Finding the right helmet
Shoei helmets seem to run large. In all other brands I wear an XL. In a Shoei, I wear an L. I have an RF1000. I know the RF1100s go up to 2XL.Posted 05-25-2011 at 02:43 PM by FlyingDuc

gsxr 600
welcome to the world of the GSXR and its woes.
all the 06 and newer GSXRs are very finiky about their oil and it shows up in the shifting behavior. when the oil is done and needs changed you start having shifting issues like what you are describing.
here are some oils ive used and my thoughts on them.
Mobil 1 full synthetic, any weight= about 600 miles before you get shifting problems. my opinion? FUCKING GARBAGE!!! great for cars and other bikes but the GSXRs hate it.
Castrol R1 full synthetic 10w40= 1800-2000 miles. ran this for a long time. its realativly inexpensive at $10-$11 a quart.
Motorex Power Synt 4T full synthetic 10w50=3000+ miles i love this stuff! but it is kinda expensive at $18-$19 a quart.
dont even wast your time or money on synthetic blends unless you really need an oil change and it cant wait till payday.
i switched to full synthetic after 1500 miles on my bike and have never looked back. i now have 33000+ miles on my bike and it runs like a champ and i have yet to have anything but the battery and stator fail or be out of spec when it goes in for its checkupsPosted 12-21-2010 at 11:14 AM by BLIZANTHIMUM

Paul you can come down and pit on any race weekend, although it will only fuel your track addiction as Lazy is about to find out. The MoM dates are posted in the calendar - one each month April - October.Posted 04-30-2009 at 05:36 PM by stubby

MoM race weekend #1
Thanks Beans. The gravel trap wasn't too bad as I kept the bike upright. My only problem was I couldn't find first gear so I had to use 2nd and it wasn't fun navigating through 12" of gravel. One more weekend of provisional status....Posted 04-23-2009 at 12:47 PM by stubby

Nice write up! I began to get scared at the part about trying out the gravel trap on T1.Posted 04-23-2009 at 12:50 AM by beansbaxter

Thanks Cider, hopefully I will have some more photos shortly. Mr. Whipple has a few that I still need to look at from race day. Are we going to see the SV out there next year?Posted 04-21-2009 at 10:49 PM by stubby

Awesome. Living the dream. I like picture one where the novices are in front of the non-novice. The west side is my favorite, too.Posted 04-21-2009 at 04:25 PM by Cider

Goodbye F4i
I like the name The Mighty - I remember when I first saw that bike, same color scheme, when it was first released. It was the best looking red bike I had ever seen sitting at the dealership. I remember buying a Honda dirtbike instead lol
If you had not lost your job, would you have hanged onto the bike longer?Posted 04-10-2009 at 10:40 PM by beansbaxter
