Goodbye F4i

Well, yesterday was a day I never really looked forward too: I sold my 2002 CBR600F4i (aka The Mighty).
I had decided to sell the bike even before losing my job in March so it wasn't the end of the world for me but it still sucks to see your first bike (and one that is still so nice) go.
I only rode it TWICE last year on the track and not at all on the street because I've been commuting on my SM610. It just didn't make sense to have a bike sitting around when someone could be getting some good use out of it.
I sold it to a pretty nice guy named Travis and I told him about the site and about our group rides so its pretty likely that I'll at least get to ride WITH my old bike from time to time.
As a weird twist, Travis called this morning to ask if I had any idea why the headlights wouldn't be working. I have no clue. I never had an issue with it the whole time I owned it so I was quite surprised. If he isn't able to find the issue today, I told him to call me up and I'll take a look at it. I want someone to be RIDING the bike, not letting it sit around and I certainly don't want something I sold to be in need of repair.

I like the name The Mighty - I remember when I first saw that bike, same color scheme, when it was first released. It was the best looking red bike I had ever seen sitting at the dealership. I remember buying a Honda dirtbike instead lol
If you had not lost your job, would you have hanged onto the bike longer?Posted 04-10-2009 at 10:40 PM by beansbaxter
