No, the 06 R6 has a bracket part number RM-23-2147 ; your R1 needs a bracket part number RM-23-2112 .

does that mean the part IS actually different? Or, is it a different number so the manu. knows who's buying their parts?

The lower bracket is different due to tank/frame/triple tree design and offsets... anything can be made to work with a little modification but it is not a direct fit.

The scott's page has the same info. I'm sure we could build a new lower bracket for less than they want for the mount kit.

Those are nice mounts, I'm thinking that by the time I buy the damper and the separate mount, that I could just pay full price from Scotts for their new set up, I have looked and contacted pit bull, but they do not make one for the R1, not looked into GVR
