Shop flooring

Anybody ever used the floor covering that snaps together? I am planning on painting my garage/shop floor with 2 part epoxy at some point, but would like to put a cover on my "bike stand" and was thinking about the tiles that you can put down on the floor. Any place local that sells these? I want to do a black/white checkerboard pattern on it. Also, has anyone used them and are they slippery at all?

I Ride: on sidewalks if needed.

Saw this the other day. You could just glue it to your stand and save yourself some time. It even comes with a wheel chock if you need it.

I did a 2 part epoxy with a race deck snap in floor for my enclosed trailer. Haven't had much use since I completed it but it turned out SWEET! Doing a garage floor with the snap in floor would be pricey. Retail is ~$3.00/ft. The 2 part epoxy was $100 for 2 gallons, I think it will cover 800 sq. ft.

For a garage floor I personaly would do the epoxy only. Add some silica sand in it for traction as it is super slick when wet if you dont. Below are a few before and after pics of the trailer.

Wow, I must have been drinking when I posted this one...how the hell did I put it in the For Sale section? I wondered why I didn't notice it for a while.
Thanks Mikey, that might work, but it is a foot too short. My stand is 32" x 8'.

Nice looking trailer Schmitty!

I looked around and haven't found anywhere local that sells the square tiles. I can order the tiles from Sears, but can't get individual ones since I only need to cover a small area. I am thinking of just using paint and do the checkerboard pattern on it. Only problem is that I have spilled oil, antifreeze, beer, etc on the bare wood and may have to just replace the top with new wood and paint it.

Good ideas. I thought about vinyl, but am worried about how slick it might be.

Just checked Summit and they have the individual tiles for $3.75 each. Would work out to about $100 for the bike stand. I think I will put down a new sheet of plywood and paint it with something that is somewhat "non-skid".
Thanks!

What about those colored tiles that they sell at like Lowes and Home Depot? The ones that snap together and are about 2'x2'. They may be a little cheaper and are rubber so there fairly non slip.

These ones. Their not black and white like you want but just thought I'd offer my

I'm not sure if epoxy would stick to plywood, but you could always buy a bag of the texture stuff for it to mix with your normal paint. Then it wouldn't be slippery and it only costs like $3 for a bag which will work for a gallon of paint.

the 2 part epoxy sticks excellent to the plywood, just put a good coat of primer down first.
