only one person is in control of the bike getting the ticket. what some are or arent doing shouldnt have any bearing on what others do. i have gotten pulled over because others ahead of me pissed the cops off. but then again if i hadnt been doing something wrong myself i wouldnt have been handed a road tax by the cops.

R1Bran and myself were waiting to make sure everybody was on the road and in the group. Once we were out of town it was time to wind it up a little.

whoa guys settle down. i dont get the impression that lostcause is playing the blame game here or pointing fingers.
i think he is aware of the consequences of riding like we do and is handling it quite well, so no need to be jumping all over his ###t.

Careful he might bite you in the ankle or worse get stuck to the bottom of your shoe!
I'm not laying blame on anyone. I think the Boise Co. sheriff in question knew we were coming. He lives in the house next to The Rocks tavern. He saw us heading up and decided to wait for us on our way back. I don't think it mattered who he got as long as he wrote someone a ticket and gave them good long lecture. Boise County is relatively sparsely populated with a low tax base. Therefore, the deputies writing tickets are basically writing there own paychecks. No money in, no money out(paychecks).

its not a ticket, its a road tax. i use to enjoy going up and back but with the way the sheriff dept has decided that bikes are a great source of revenue for boise county, i usually only go through once on the way to lowman. i always slow down at the rocks lodge and i also count the sheriffs as i see them. last i knew there was only three, might be one or two more now. just watch yourselves on that road and on horseshoe bend hill. notorious places for getting nailed. that or go fast while giving the appearance of doing the speed limit.

I Ride: with two hands.
My money is on the cop that drives the white explorer and lives at the "Rocks" tavern selling spring water. He hates bikes in general. I think he was the one that showed up when I went down above Lowman. The best part was when he pulled his camera out of a Crown Royal bag to take pictures. Guy never even realized I went down, but he was puzzled as to why there was bright green paint on the shoulder of the road.

The guy with the massive mustache who drives the f-150 has always been a real nice guy. I remember a summer or two ago, Tydd and I were doing a rather spirited pass in one of the wide left sweepers right above the marina road. I got to the top of the hill and he was sitting in his truck watching us the whole time. He just waved at me - one of those twilight zone moments.

He may not be required to show you his radar gun, but I am fairly sure it needs to have been calibrated within a specific time frame of the ticket. I could be wrong though.

He's usually parked at The Rocks, if it's the same guy. I always notice how many are parked there when I pass, as that means 1-2 more or less out and about between Boise and IC.

He's been at most of the accidents I've been at and he's always got the same attitued. "You guys will never learn."

Apparently the cop can't spell anything. Check out the "Title Picture" at the top of his blog page for Rock's Water. http://www.rockswaterrocks.com/

"Don't be fooled by other water names...our is bottled fresh at the source of the Mountain Spring"

Call me picky but if you're going to own a business wouldn't you at least use spell check on the title catch phrase?

Maybe he just hates sportbikes rather than all motorcycles.
Used to stop at Rocks Lodge for grub and/or beverage before
they closed the restaurant and bar. Have never been pulled
over by the Sheriff despite being an assertive rider. Helps that
I ride a cruiser which looks slower than it is. LOL!

It is the sportsbike crowd he doesn't like. Says he's always cleaning us up off the road.

At least, unlike the Harley/metric cruiser contingent, the sportbike
crowd isn't a rolling roadblock on those roads. Sometimes I wonder
if some of those slowpokes had one too many beers.

However, to put it into perspective, that guy ought to patrol the
roads around Alice's Restaurant in Sky Londa, CA. There are tons
of crashes around there including head-on collisions btw bikes. It
would make him realize that what's going on here is no BFD.

I've actually gone down more on my old cruiser than I have on my sportsbike. Our bikes are ment to be pushed.

And for the most part we wear more and better safety gear so when we do go down we are in better shape.
