I Ride: Wheelies | Front brakes locked
So today I was riding around the neighborhood testing out my bike after working on it last night and after doing a small stoppie I tankslapped and fell over. I am doing good, just sore from the fall. Bike for most part is good as well. Only real issue is my brakes. For some reason they are really locked. The lever is fully locked and won't engage while at the same time it's not engaged at all. So any ideas on what is wrong and what I can do to fix this issue? |

Sounds like the valve at the lever is malfunctioning, leading to a build of pressure behind the piston on the grip end.

Tank slappers can do funny things to brakes. Typically they throw the caliper's pistons outward creating no brake pressure.... Perhaps yours was the opposite. I personally would attempt to either bleed the brakes, or remove the calipers and compress the pistons back. You may have to do that with the master cylinder cover off, then bleed them to be sure everything is right. Just be careful about dripping brake fluid. Keep everything covered with towels. James |
