Holy Galfer Braided Brake Lines Batman

Yep - nothing else to add really..

Need a good Vac bleed though, but a V A S T improvement - Now that I don't have to pump my brakes I can probably go fast..

So who want to volunteer their trusted Vacuum Bleeder ? Of course I'll bring the bike to you ! TIA

Donuts on me..?

I try to tell people SS lines & HH pads should be at the top of the list of mods to do to a bike & it's cheap! I don't ride without them! As soon as I get a bike, lines & pads are ordered!

I'm due for some new pads. You are referencing the EBC HH pads correct?

Galfers actually. But other brands make pads that reduce 'fading' as well.

So does anyone have a big vacuum chamber that you can pump down by hand?

I'd like to pull through a half quart of fluid through each caliper at one time..

You need something like a mity vac. I think harbor freight may have some cheaper versions.

I prefer the ones with the gauge so you can see that you are still holding pressure. Anything similar to these will get the job done.

You can also bleed it the cheap way.
Go to home depot and purchase a clear hose. Get a water bottle. Add a hole at the top of the lid and put some hose through it.
Than put end of the hose around the nipple of your master or brake caliper. Pump brakes, open them up and let the fluid come throught he hose and into the bottle. Also, I put the bottle over my tire, so that way I can keep pumping it and fluid goes up and air never comes down.

Bleed all my brakes like this and it works like a champ!

I have the hand vacuum pump, I just don't have a vacuum chamber big enough to pull a half quart through at one time..

These 6 piston calipers are a bitch to get the air out, I need to pull a steady stream of fluid for sometime.. I'm really looking for a vacuum chamber that can hold a gallon or a half gallon of vacuum..

Oh, well mity vac does make larger containers. Or you could modify the one you have to go to another container.

I just don't have anything of a decent volume that can support a vacuum.

The front brake on my KTM (dirt) was a beeatch. Got a big plastic horse medicine syringe from D&B and push the fluid from the bleeder nipple at the caliper up through the line to the reservoir. Works great and was cheap to boot.

This is what I got, along with a craftsman vertical air compressor. the brake fluid bleeder has made it's rounds and whored out pretty good, but finally made it's way home again. Hit me up if you wanna swing by. I am in kuna..... if thats not still too far for you.

I think there's a little too much sexual tension here to add brake fluid to the situation. Not to mention a suction pump

Well, I was newly motivated by the scarey posts above to try and bleed the system the old fashioned way.

Worked great - brakes are finally as they should be..

Magura makes a great syringe kit for bleeding hydraulic clutches, brake systems, etc. it's $14 for the kit. Works great.
