Re: Gas Light ?

uh ya...... funny story about that .... never owned a bike with a gas light before this.... bought the bike and filled it up..... wanted to check my mpg.... so i ran it too the bone figuring either the light would go on or I would hit the reserve. Uh no light and it was already switched to the reserve setting. Long story short - new bike on the side of the hwy in caldwell....... needless to say i dont let it past 1/4 of a tank.

Re: Gas Light ?

Personally, I have never owned a bike with a fuel light, wouldn't trust it if it had one anyway. From monitoring, I know I can go 200 miles from full to reserve with heavy riding, as such, I get gas every 200 miles or top off if heading out for a ride.

Thats exactly what I do now - Just want to have all functions of the bike operational.

Re: Gas Light ?

I've owned a few with a gas light and my only advise is don't trust it. Use a trip meter if it has one and just know how far you can go.
