They're finally coming!

w00t!!!! My SharkSkinz will finally get here Monday! I've been impatiently waiting for 2 weeks now, but it's they're finally here.. almost.

Yes, I actually had a point to this post. I'm going to start throwing together a paint booth in my garage, so I thought I'd get peoples ideas, suggestions, input, sarcastic remarks, etc.

I've decided the checkerboard idea I had just isn't the best, as it would be ridiculously time consuming and difficult, so I've decided to do a couple fades instead. Still dark red & black. Anyone have suggestions on how best to fade the red into the black? I was thinking I'd spray everything red, and then go over again with the black on the parts I want to fade out. Does this require a different amount of reducer, etc?

Any thoughts, suggestions, or "lessons learned" painting would be great!

I am glad you let the checker pattern go, I have been having the thoughts of doing one LOL

Now, you get a paint booth setup, you and I will have to talk

Here is a thread on body work, at the bottom of the first page he describes how to do a fade.

Sweet, thanks Stubby!

Shadow, I think Rokkit wanted to spray her plastics too, so I'll probably be leaving it up for a bit, if you're lookin for a booth. What colors ya thinkin?

Not a clue, I keep changing my mind. I was thinking of two tone, red front, white tail with a checker transition at the mid line

Anytime you are painting a bike there is just one main rule to remember. And that is black and purple will ALWAYS be gay.

Nope. Plain yellow is a little gay though, which is why the "mexican beer label" is there.

How does Boise spray n paint compare to KC auto? I talked with them initially, not too sure who has the best prices and best product, as well as advice. Anyone else needign to get black spray?

Re: They're finally coming!

I have thought about having the bike warmed up and splashing some different colors on the front of it and then whipping it up to speed to get the colors to flow back on the bike...kind of a tye dyed look.

Let me know if you want to use my paint booth frame. If you have room for a 10X12 frame in your garage. Takes about 20 bucks worth of plastic and 5 bucks worth of tape to make it happen. Two box fans and a couple of furnace filters also.
