Took the fuel pump apart and the dumb @$$ made it so that the over flow for the pump flows into where all the wires are so I think that is where the short is coming from. I am almost positive that is why the bike wont start.

Guess I should explain how all these problems started. After I got the bike back together from paint it wouldn't start would just crank and crank. I managed to get it started with a little starting fluid and got it to idle with full chock, but every time I would give it gas it would act like it was about to die and would start pinging really bad. After I would shut it down it would start pissing gas out of the fuel pump over flow this was on Friday, I have been working the problem since then. Now today it decided to start popping fuzzes I opened up the wiring harness didn't find anything wrong and wrapped it all back up.

So the only conclusion I can come to is that it is the wires in the fuel pump

Dude i modded a pump from autozone to replace mine until I can get the stock one ($153). It is the low pressure pump. I had to remove the outer cover and use some copper pluming parts but it works great.

Ok to test a relay you need to identify whether it is a negative or positive relay. One terminal should be for the circuit that is going to be amplified or what is getting activated (B). one should be for your battery power (C). one should be for the power of the armature (V2). and one for the activating switch (V1). When a switch is activated it completes the circuit for the electromagnet which sends current to the electromagnet which pulls an armature down which completes the circuit for the activated piece ex:horn. To test it all you have to do is figure out what terminal is what apply power to the armature and you should hear a slight click of the electromagnet activating and pulling the armature down. Remember to use the correct voltage. Of course it is alot easier having it to look at. Hope this helps.
