Looks great! Where are you planning on going? My first thought was "Do you think you are going to get lost on the Lowman loop??" Planning a long trip? |

We are leaving for yellowstone next week so figured the GPS would be a nice thing to have. Mainly wanted so I new the exact speed I was going and so that I new the distance to the next gas station. The other thing I like about it is that it will tell me the speed limit for the road I am on.

The setup looks great, I was just thinking about how I was going to mount my GPS and that looks like a great mount, thanks for posting it.

If you are interested in them go to www.ram-mount.com I think with shipping this one was about $55 so not to bad. If you get one that goes in the steering head make sure that you don't use the rubber wedge that they give you (especially if you will be doing any sort of wheelie) I have read reviews on other forums, that the base can come loose and the GPS can fall. The fix for this is to just get a replacement bolt that is 10 to 11 in long and run it all the way to the bottom of the steering shaft, this is what I did and I would guarantee that the only way you are going to loose it is if you loop it. I will be in boise tomorrow and this weekend if you want to take a look at it.

as far as motorcycle GPS's go. if anyone is looking i would highly recommend the Garmin ZUMO. i helped my father in law pick one out and install it on his harley. the thing is freaking awesome. mp3 player built in. bluetooth so you can make phone calls and actually have the phone in your pocket while you dial on the GPS. Low fuel warning. man.... i told myself if i ever get a new bike i'm going to go out and by a ZUMO immediately.
