Question lowering R6

my girlfriend just got an 08' R6. very nice bike, but its to tall for her. she almost laid it over trying to back it out of the garage. she went on to motorcycle superstore and ordered a lowering kit for it. . . but how does it work, it looks like it's just a triangle piece of metal. . .

Different settings for different heights. It moves your swingarm up to make the bike lower. After you do that make sure you drop the front a little too.

I Ride: low and slow

its really simple to install. get the rear wheel off the ground so it hangs (i use a floor jack and jack it up with the kickstand down lean it to the left). any how you will see the stock links on the bike triangle shaped should be 3 bolts holdin it on take stock one's off. the holes in the new links you bought are in diffrent spots than the stock ones the or the holes shit lower. get underit have sum one pick up on the rear wheel enough to bring the swing arm up line up your holes bolt them down. pieace of cake

This is a good idea, but don't lower the front too much, or the wheel might hit stuff (radiator, front cylinder on a Ducati, etc.) under full compression.

We lowered christy's 2 inches in the rear and 2 in the front...handling is good, clearence over speed bumps is not an issue you wont have any...

We put an adjustable kickstand on it...Kickstand is made with some magnesium, so welding was not an option...

ya, dont forget the kickstand issue...bike will have issues w/ clearing the speedbumps in the Eagle/Fairview shopping center, then you will get pissed for scraping, then you will pull it over & stand it up on the kickstand and watch it tip over....then get pissed and kick it..... Not that it has happened or anything...

Of course not christy... I scrapped too but I had already fixed my kick stand so when I pulled over to look I didnt have the additional problem of tipping over to deal with...Life's a lesson, learn it hehee

Holler

If you and your boy Dewalt dont want to put it on, let me know. Easy if you have messed with bikes much.

Tricky if you have not been working on bikes much.

well me and dewald got the lowering kit on yesterday. the hardest part was getting a bolt past on of the cat hangers. other than that it was pretty easy.
