I Ride: 2007 YZFR1 | Clutch Replacement.. Cost and Brand
I had 0 replies on r1forum. So I need to buy a clutch kit. Tried adjusting up top and the bottom. Tried changing oil and she still just spins up over 8k. I was wondering about what the best deal is on a clutch. I have only seen people talk about Barnett, EBC and Stock. Im a fan of stock unless there is something to be gained by another brand. Im looking to get the best deal possible. I have found a stock kit on ebay from a dealer in toledo for like 130 plus 15 shipping. Where can I find the best deal guys? Whats the best kit to go with? Thanks in advance guys! |

Unless your needing a clutch for racing or a specific purpose, I think stock is as good as any. normally I have found that aftermarket brand can run cheaper and last just as long as a stock clutch set. |

oem is usually the best way to go. i know r1's dont do well with other clutches (i went through alot) one thing you need to do is get rid of the diaphragm spring if your bike has it and replace it with a barnett conversion kit (gives you an actual pressure plate with 6 springs instead of just one domed piece of crap disk to keep pressure on the clutch). it will save you alot of headaches in the future
