WTB Custom Coolant Hoses

I have a 90 ZX7 which needs the coolant hoses replaced but Kawasaki does not sell a couple of them anymore. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get some custom hoses made. They will have to be molded hoses.

Would flex hose work?

I think I could make it fit but I think it would not cool as well as smooth hose. Do they make 1" flex hose (or what ever size it is)?

Check out this place for premolded sets. And, their GREEN
http://www.nex-performance.com/produ...iator-hose.htm
Or maybe a clear flex that would be green with antifreeze.
http://www.clearrad.com/clear_radiatorhose.htm

I don't know anything about either of these places, or about places that will custom mold any. I was just bored and did some searches. I can't get the BadAscot turn signals to work and have a fuel leak after replacing the fork seals and steering bearings so I am wasting time on the internet.

you could take your old hoses down to the auto parts store and look through all the heater hoses they have on the wall, they are bound to have something kinda close to what you need

Check out samco silicone racing hoses. They come in all colors and claim to help your bike run up to 50 deg cooler. http://www.samcosport.com/usa/prod/b...ages/KAW-2.jpg

did you ask them for a hose that goes to a bike? you have to get them to let you dig through them yourself

Some of the shops won't let you do that, but that is the best way to find something. Reminds me of when I worked auto parts back in the late 70's. I would let people come back and look through the parts for something that would fit.

So here is my take on coolant lines. Flex hose cause's cavitation problems and the clear flex line's are just plain un-safe( I speak from personal experiance.) If you get on OPP's wep site there will be a place you can look at individual line's from Samco. All of the measurements are there. Pick out what you need and give me the part #'s as we are a opp dealer. They will put it into a kit price for us and save you some money. If you don't want to deal with it just bring the bike on over and we will either help you pick the right one's or just take care of it for ya.

I sent emails out to Samco, Moto Hose and Hose Tech. So far, these are the responses I have received:

Samco has not responded

Moto Hose said this:
Yes, we can make the complete radiator hose kit for your ZX. All we ask is
for 3 kits to be pre sold and paid for. A rough guess on the price for each
kit will be $250 We will need a complete set of the stock hoses to make the
molds. This process can take any where from 1.5 to 3 months to complete.

Hose Tech said this:
We are manufacturing Radiator hoses for Automotive. Of course we can make your hose.
To make a new hose I need an original hose or drawing to copy.
To make any new hose we have a situation that we need to make tooling. If this application is for quantity then we adsorb the tooling costs. If this is only for one set, then we charge tooling.
Let me know how to proceed.

Neither of these are great option. Anyone else have any ideas? I have crawled through both AutoZone and Napa auto parts store.

find a couple hoses that are close, cut them and insert a connector to make the hose look like you want

I am afraid that wont work Mikey. The years are close enough. The only problem with that one on ebay is that it is a 1991 Kawasaki Ninja Ninja. I am sure Waldo has just a Kawasaki Ninja.

89-90 ZX750-H is different than that one. 91 and newer are all the same. There is also a 87-90 Ninja which also different than the other models.

Try http://www.zxforums.com/forums/zx-7r...ut-93-7-a.html there is guy parting out a 93 ZX7 on there right now. Don't know if 93 will fit, but there are bikes being parted out on that site all the time.

Thanks for all the responses. I finally receive a response from a Samco dealer in UK (www.racebikebitz.com). They do have them for the H model. $209 plus $25 for shipping.

I agree but Kawasaki does not make them anymore and I like the bike. Bikes are money pits.
