Your goddamn right! This is cold weather time... Truck your bike over, burn out in your truck.... I see no other option! A burn out is a burn out no matter the placement of the tire!!

Sorry to hear that. I showed up a bit late but still found it nice to meet everyone. Back in the day, we used to give everyone name tags with their real name and screen name for events like this, that way you all wont mistake Fouker for me when throwing rocks.

Waldo and SGB were nice. Most made us feel like they didn't want to talk. Not a positive atmosphere. Too bad though seemed like the "in" crowd had fun.

Well I am sorry to hear that - the Legends thing is the one event where we try to get the most BRN members in one spot so it can be a bit hectic... I do try and make my way to everyone but with 50-60 people filtering in and out I know it can get overwhelming especially if you are new to this bunch. I do know that MOST of us will try and meet new faces - especially at the smaller events like KK bike night -- if you do decide to give it a 2nd chance let me know!! If you don't... I don't blame you we can be a rough group of hooligans at times..but I would say at least try a smaller group function you may find some of us are actually pretty good peeps. except for duckllr avoid him .......

I try so hard to name tag everyone!!! GRRRRRRR....You didn't get a name tag? If I remember correctly(which I may not), I tried to give you one and I believe it was brought to my attention your leathers had your SN or some variation of it on them and I would have generally still attempted to force a name tag on you, but you were late so I may have given up too easily...(that may have been a different event though, I have no idea its been too long)...HOWEVER next time I will FORCE name tags on alllllll of you muahahahaha ... duck you scare the newbs with or without a name tag... way to go .....

This sounds like a case of a new person getting lost in a sea of faces ...
I am a sad to hear that no one in our group noticed that you were out of place or that no one invited you into a group with them... :

I really hope that doesn't happen this year -- it is a meet and greet -- meet new people and greet/welcome them... in some manner, maybe using basic acknowledgment of existence, at a minimum......

I am sorry you feel this way.. Bill and I are usually very welcoming. So I am very sorry that you did not have a positive experience. Bill and I have opened our home up many times to BRN BBQ's/events and many complete strangers and others that are just plain strange have shown and got to know others..

I agree, Bill and Rhonda are pretty amazing people. A lot of BRN is pretty cliquish though. Sometimes you just have to be the one to step up and work your way into a group until you find one you fit in with. It's kinda like highschool, but for adults, and with bikes

Also thanks to BRN I have found some of the best friends I have ever had. There is a handful of people I would trust with anything, and half of those are on this forum.

I would say to give us another chance.. and come on out and introduce yourself and join in the kaos!

have only been to a couple of meets and I can see what fouker is saying as I, too, have felt what he is talking about.. the few I was at seemed to be very "clickish" and were somewhat of a turnoff to attend more, although I have not been at the large ones that the majority of the brn crew are at...

it's on my calendar as I love the food there(probably will drive as I want to enjoy a libation and don't drink and ride). perhaps fouker and I should meet up before and show up together as the "official" noobs of the bunch

I duno I joined up with BRN about 2 years ago, of course when you join a new group there is the awkwardness of not knowing anyone. But when I tried to introduce myself to people everyone was very welcoming and inviting. I am now friends with a lot of the community here are they are the best people I have met. I know I gave it a few days to get to know people and become more comfortable with everyone. So if you guys just keep at it I am sure you will fit in just fine.

You also have to remerber most of us have known each other since 2007 and I know it seems to come off as clickish.. because we know each other family's, kids, the in's and out's of these different household; also watching some have babies and others kids graduate high school.

Thank you for bring this to my attention I will more aware of new faces.

Fouker, I have yet to see any group of 4+ people that don't start shuffling into smaller groups. That is the nature of people. However, I would like to apologize since (if I remember correctly) I was seated at your table and moved to a different one. I did this to get a better view of the TV and admittedly to be with a group that I knew well and wanted to discuss some things with. As much as I try to meet all the new members and draw them into the group, I might have failed at that point. Sorry, I am human like the rest of you.

Please try to make it to the next meet and greet and I will try to make up for it.

This really is a great group of people. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

This thread isn't about my experience last year. It should be about getting people together. In spite of a couple poor experiences I would still encourage everyone to show and have a good time. Food, booze, and racing is a combo for shenanigans.

Who me?

Admittedly - - I'm one of the A-Holes of BRN. I don't associate I just show up, start a bunch of shit, holler some obscenities and leave. Keeps life more interesting that way.
*snort*

Fouker - if you are who I think you are, I rode with you a few times last year. You're a bit of a quiet guy (hopefully I'm not thinking of the wrong person).....so my advice would be to be just a bit assertive and get yourself out there and mix it up. Most of the BRN crew are classic Type A personalities and egomaniacs so don't be shy.

Fouker, I have to apologize as well as I tried meeting a few new people last year and didn't quite get around to you.. Another thing for any new people to keep in mind is that this is not a "club" just a forum of passionate riders. We also tend to talk to the people we know from rides over the summer since sometimes the rides are the only times you meet and talk to people. It's a way to catch up on the news with a familiar face since half the times we forget each others names. I have talked to you in Mountain Home and also talked with you on a couple of occasions at KK Bike Night. You seem to be easy to talk to so I'll try and make it over to say hi to you. I might even buy you a beer.

See everyone there.

I'll be there. It looks like I'll be limping in. Looks like I will be part of the cruiser set from now on. It appears likely that they are going to total my Harley. Frame got tweaked where the foot peg bolts on. A high stress spot right next to the swingarm pivot.

I Ride: Hmmm....

The facts are that people are the same everywhere one goes. If one is known by the group, the welcoming arms are thrown. If a stranger shows up, the 'known' bunch will shun the new one for fear of offending the new one.

I'm just sayin'-
