I Ride: 04 R6 | 1st Annual End of Summer Bash?
So here is the idea/part of the e-mail I sent to Legends::: Thinking about organizing an end of summer bash Saturday 9/29 in the evening around 6 or 7 @ legends in Boise waiting to hear back from the owner about having band, games, tape off part of the parking lot for games on bikes (I would supply a waiver the participants could sign releasing liability for damage or injury) we usually have a slow drag race, burn out contest, two up hot dog on a string contest, slow weave cone/stick challenge... a lot of low speed stuff any other games ![]() Also looking to see if I can have local vendors come maybe - cyclone cycles? - snake river Yamaha? - Stars of Idaho? other local business guys, etc? I want to see if these businesses can toss in some gift cards/free stuff (small in value) for prizes ? ![]() I also want to see if our group can toss together some make shift trophies need old sprockets broken bike parts stuff we can J-b weld together and spray paint would be cool if anyone has any of this to donate let me know also if anyone wants to help make trophies that would be great. If you guys think any of this would work please let me know - I am just kicking ideas around right now. Or if you have suggestions, would like to help etc. let me know!!!!!!!! ![]() |

I Ride: 04 R6 | BRN NOTES TO YOU ARE (BOLD AND RED) I have never organized an event like this before so any help is appreciated! So the plan is that the gathering should start around 7pm that Saturday (is that a good time following BSU game?). I am thinking 7 to about 11 when we shut down completely. We will show up around 6 if we can get an okay on set up for the other events. We would like the lower floor for food and seating we will also want the outside area this time if it is available. This will be for BoiseRiders.Net and friends. I am thinking about having vendors set up tables in the grass out side or along the building parking lot side - we have 3 committed so far. (BRN VENDORS PLEASE CONSIDER A SMALL PRIZE(S) WE CAN GIVEAWAY even if we don't have games I would like to have everyone put there name in for a door prize or something?? but that is totally up to you guys ) The bands/groups are local and I am waiting to hear but they have soft confirmed : http://www.zackquintana.com/ and http://www.billwaughmusic.com/ you can check out there website - they are playing for free (Tips) we would like to set them up outside we would need a source of power...... Do I need a permit or something? they will be done by 10 most likely if not sooner. We would like to use cones and caution tape to set up a Stunt Area - we have a small local group of stunt riders they may want to come for this event also. (BRN We need cones and some orange tape or something i guess) The games are all the same games that Birds of Prey Harley Davidson and Snake River Yamaha have at there bike nights, so most of the people attending are accustomed to how they work. I can draft waivers/release of liability that can be signed by the stunt group and any game participants and run those by the owner of the parking lot. Games ideas include: Slow Drags: - chalk drag strip drawn out about the length of 2 cars - 2 bikes start who ever crosses the line LAST with out using feet advances to next round till we have a st and 2nd place. (BRN does anyone have some extra sidewalk chalk they can donate?) Burn Out Contest: Goal melt a tire... there would be rubber left in parking lot from this - goals are best smoke - longest burnout - best style - most creative and best overall ... things like that. Cone Weave/Stick Pick Up: we set up little cones in short a course and make contestants ride through it with out touching cones or ground at low speeds - this can be done with 2 people on one bike to make it more challenging and we can add sticks that the passenger must pick up out of the cones as they go by and then they have to turn around and put them back. Hot Dog Bite - 2 people one bike driver must go slow enough and not touch the ground while driving under a suspended mustard/ketchup covered hotdog - passenger must try to eat/bite dangling hotdog on string - has to actually eat the hot dog cant be spit out - each team gets 4 attempts and the person who bites off the most of the hotdog wins. (BRN Does anyone want to donate some sticks and string / hotdogs /ketchup / mustard to set this one up) Plank Ride - Bike must balance, on a 2x4 and go as far as they can with out falling off -- who ever gets the farthest wins - usually the 2x4 is 16ft. (BRN anyone want to donate a 16ft 2x4? - tape measure) Barrel Race - 3 or 4 barrel like objects (trash cans/chairs, etc.) fairly close together and the goal is to go around all barrels without touching them or falling over in the shortest time - this is difficult and slow! (BRN anyone want to bring 3 or 4 round objects that can be crashed into? oh and can someone bring a stop watch I think my phone has one) We may also consider a bike show - have riders vote on best paint, best mods, best bike, etc. (BRN;we will need a box to hold ballots and paper and pen- does anyone want to help with that?) So those are the ideas - if this big ordeal doesn't work out with band and games we will still be coming into legends on that day for a end of summer meet and greet just to have some food and hang out! But I would like to see what we can manage as the more engaging things I plan the more people SHOULD show .... if I can't get a good crowd committed I will cancel big events and just plan the regular meet and greet. ![]() BRN:::: I will need help with trophy ideas/supplies and help putting them together - like I said it is all stuff that is not wanted I don't want anyone spending a whole bunch of money on anything -- including myself! Anyone wanna help with assembling of trophies and maybe helping run some games ?? This is an event for OUR community so come have fun and help others have fun too!!!!!!! |

I Ride: 04 R6 | had no plans to but I guess it could be arranged however I don't want to run all the games myself so if I can't get enough volunters this will just be a BRN get together and eat event. Quote:

Well I have a band and vendors...possibly a stunt show... all lined up ... But the interest here seems lacking .... so if this is still a go... I need some more enthusiasm.. cuz my a.d.d is kicking in... Soooo. Buelcrew... You in charge of cone pickup weave challenge ...I think Alex might have cones Kimistry...you in charge of slow drags with crazy ace ....no trophies too much work not enough time or parts.... But vendors ... Can you contribute a 1st place prize and a 1st loser prize for these 2 games I am going to bail on the rest of the games.... Take too long between games, band, stunters, food etc.

You bet, Slow drags sounds like something my speed My only problem might be that im entered in a 5k run that morning, but i should be done in time to make it over to help out. Also if you do decide you want to make some trophies let me know. I have a wirefeed welder and some scrap metal that we might be able to put something goofy together If you need anything else just let me know. You can text or call me if you want. I can help. Clue me in on the rules. I say forget the trophies this year and slowly work on them through next year. We can have a "make a trophy" party sometime next year and everyone can bring a used or old M/C part and a side dish and then we can make metal art.
