I Ride: Victory Kingpin, The Harley is deceased :(

Bummer

Laid down my bike this morning. Hit a patch of ice about 6 inches by 8 inches. The only one in my neighborhood and I found it. Bike isn't to bad. Me, well tore up my left knee will likely need surgical repair. Right hand is sore and swollen maybe broken, hopefully not. Will be out for at least 2-3 months. Major suckage.

Sorry to hear that man. I'm stuck at home unable to drive since shoulder rebuild. Today was my first PT appointment. Not the most ideal way for us to start 2012

Probably the worst part is that you missed biscuits and gravy and Bill had to eat all of it.

Yeah, at least I didn't get my butt kicked by a rabbit. But I'm looking at 4-6 weeks of leg brace and crutches and crutches. My armpits are already sore from the crutches.

Wooohoooo....No surgery needed. Will be in a brace for awhile. Tore my PCL, MCL and a tendon that holds the patella in place. Just call me lucky.

mother f$#@er

My bike is probably totalled. The footpeg hooked the ground and tweaked the frame. So now after all is said and done I'm gonna be down a bike for awhile. Still gots the Victory cruiser though for those slow days.

my BMW has a "tweaked" subframe, that was enough to total the bike, but not enough to bother fixing, or affect the ergonomics, handling, or utility. Hopefully this is the case for yours too.

The frame where the footpeg bolts is bent and the weld likely cracked where the footpeg bolts in at. This is right next to the swingarm pivot. bad spot to reweld etc. especially considering the forces on that part of the frame when ridden hard by a 300lb. gorilla.

Will likely pay off the loan balance and put the rest towards my shooting competition supplies, etc. Still have the cruiser for those slow days.

I'm doing ok. Looks like I will be a cruiser rider now. Can't afford to get a new bike. Don't think I can ride a sportbike after the knee injury it's just not gonna work like it used to.

Time for an adventure bike! I hear that if you get one, you can "almost" keep up with those young whipper-snappers on their pesky sport bikes. Its just what I heard anyway.

Will likely be selling the Victory soon as the weather improves. This has changed my outlook on riding. After losing friends to bikes and seeing others injured, I'm now reminded of my own fragility. Knee is trashed from a low speed get off and now looking at a long rehab. Will keep my gear and see how I feel down the road, but right now I don't have the confidence to ride. It really sucks when you can't even drive a car and I have to be able to walk to do my job.
