People who post vids of themselves breaking the law, for all to see, they deserve to be busted.

It looks like he's def. moving, but 186mph?? I heard a gear change 1/2way thru the vid.. not a real smart thing to do and I don't disagree with posts above... |

I disagree with all the above comments, if you didn't catch me in the act i'm free to go. Prove it was him on the bike and that he didn't post someone elses video. Now before you start with the well if you break the law and it's caught on camera bullshit its about identification beyond a reasonable doubt. If there is any doubt that it was him specifically on the bike breaking the law they gotta let him go period.

I've seen 186 on my speedo on a public road does that mean a cop can come give me a ticket after the fact? No it doesn't, my response is prove it and that's my point can you see his face or any identifying characteristics? If we handed out tickets for the bullshit that came out of peoples mouths we wouldn't be in debt as a country.

Hitting the imaginary LIKE button here. However, we should respect that a detective with determination *could* put together a case that would hold up to a reasonable doubt standard, given enough creativity and experience. Investigating who uploaded the video, cell phone records (yes, triangulation from cell towers, even if you didn't use your phone is a handy tracking method), often videos will record the riders voice, getting on the bike, or be used in conjunction with any number of security tapes to identify perpetrators. A search warrant can yield the original recording, etc, etc. based solely upon one Internet video, can present many challenges for prosecution, but not always insurmountable challenges. Super dumb move though, worthy of a lifetime DL ban IMO.

Look at the BS laws that have flushed our freedoms down the toilet over the last ten years. They took half the constitution and threw it away. So now, if they want to bust you for something, they can and will. So yeah, don't put any speeding videos up for the world to see because things have changed, and the only videos that CANT be used for prosecution is videos showing COPS breaking the law. It is now illegal to video the police. Last year a cop shot a drunk guy in front of a bunch of people, the guy was sitting on the floor. Not only did the cop get off, the only person who got serious prison time was the guy who filmed the cop murdering the guy sitting on the ground. Don't put shet up on Youtube. I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush | Not so. The Supreme court has long affirmed that any action done in public is not subject to privacy expectations, and thus open for recording by the public. Despite the sky is falling videos floating around the media, or the unconstitutional charges brought against individuals for taping police actions, the act of recording authorities during the commission of their duties remains outside legislative control.

That's one of the best things about living here. Not that I run wild, but I enjoyed carrying a gun and not getting harassed about it when the cops find out.

ummm...did anyone notice that this video was "ABOOT" a guy in CANADA...this didnt happen in the US of A...so why the discussion on US Law...that shit up there is completely different. Just sayin: the media has riders here talking about someshit in another country....could be a back handed way of telling you to stop talking about fight club. |

In states that use stoplight cams they cite the car, not the driver. In Canada your mom gets your speeding tickets. 2 thoughts: don't loan your car to knuckleheads and don't buy a bike for your spawn. As far as video evidence in the US goes...you're on your own. If the guy with the gun says "give me the camera" I would give him the camera and get pissed later. Odds are any trip to booking or even a long detainment could lead to your having to get a lawyer and pony up dough just to clean things up. Remember--Robert Blake was acquitted of first degree murder but he still had to pay the lawyers. And that is how you spend that college fund...and home equity...and bike...really, really fast. |

piping in a bit late, but the one where the camera guy got in trouble, that was also evidence at the time, and he was warned prior to posting, and then got in more trouble for posting something that was still under investigation... Flame on... |
