I bet they were distracted by the guy's house on the corner with the spinning red light and all the signs posted. Either way that damn Canadian needs to pay for being inattentive. I think it would be classified as 'Involuntary Manslaughter'. |

I stop at this intersection EVERY DAY, and I drove by this accident 20 minutes after it happened. We went on the Lowman Loop ride with High Desert HD. Id assume this gentleman was riding home, since you can cut through Eagle Rd to Lake Hazel, then up to Meridian Ave to get to Kuna. If he was participating on the ride, I rode with him all day, which makes it that much more impactful. I cant believe how many accidents there are this year. Last year Idaho suffered less than 20 fatalities. I cant even count how many stories Ive seen on here, and its not even August. My deepest condolences to the family and friends. I wish I was there, in front of him 20 minutes earlier, since I know how stupid people are at this intersection and waive them by before I move across. The guy's house on the corner has lots of animals and signs directed at ACHD for a dispute, and it would not surprise me if the van wasn't distracted by the "spectacle". My girlfriend and I rode past the scene and we could hardly make it home 2 blocks away without crying. Thank you BRN, for posting these links and reminding me and my girlfriend, who takes my 9 year old son back and forth on a motorcycle, how dangerous motorcycling is. We take our safety for granted, despite the leather suits and how "ridiculous" we look all geared up to ride a few blocks away. Please be safe... I hope we can all ride together for the next 80 years accident free! RIP fellow rider. If you were on the Lowman Loop ride, it was an honor riding with you on a laid back, relaxed ride through some of the best roads in Idaho! |

So Do you all think it was the circus side show of Lama's and signs distracting this lady who obviously blew the stop sign at around 50mph or was it a phone ? Geesh! Just remember if the on coming car's aproaching an intersection aren't stopped yet. They may not stop at all. making it dangerous to go through. Be safe my friends....

I lost a close friend and coworker on Saturday. Words cannot express how sad I am to see him go like this... I worked with Aaron for a little over 2 years and every time we talked he put a smile on my face. There wasn't a mean bone in his body, always positive and lived everyday like it was his last.. I will truly miss you buddy ![]() He was on his way home with his wife when this happened (also riding). She witnessed everything on her bike and my deepest condolences go out to her and the rest of her/his family.. She said "I can't describe how much you meant to me, you were my rock, my everything....I want you to know my love for you will continue everyday....we will be together again..I LOVE YOU more than words can describe..." R.I.P. Aaron Green, you will not be forgotten.... |

I go through that intersection quite often since it's a mile from my house. I can say that the circus in that guys field is an eye catcher but I for one have never blown the stop sign because of it, nor have the thousands of people that go through it daily. Whatever the reason for it, this comes down to one person being extremely careless and now someone is dead because of it. I don't care how sorry she may be, there needs to be consequences for her actions. I'm sick of this bullshit. How many riders do we have to bury before people wake the hell up?! I hope that somehow this family can find peace after this. RIP buddy. |

I'd just like to say a couple of things: 1) So sorry for the loss of a fellow motorcyclist. My condolences to those who knew him. 2) I'm so very thankful that those few times I somehow blew through a stop sign or red light, that no one was hurt. I bet it has happened to every driver, whether or not they knew it. Any distraction, like changing the radio station, or look into the rearview mirror... and BOOM. It happens. I'm sorry for the person that accidentally did this. Being responsible for the death of another is a truly heavy burden on the heart. One that I suspect never goes away. |

I have found that riding motorcycles has made me a much better driver when behnd the wheel. i don't know if it is the extra attention that one has when vulnerable on two wheels, or if it is because I know there could be a bike ahead around that blind corner. Either way, riding a bike has made me more aware when caging.

I hope I never become a victim of some thoughtless act, and become someones oopsie.A family member killed a young father 2 blocks from his house by blowing a country 4 way stop on purpose at 70mph. This person was in high school. The man was returning from a swing shift at 3 in the morning. It sickens me to watch her go on with nothing more than a temporary suspended license and a broken foot. Her driving is still atrocious. I hate the position we are in. Do we tie our hands with more laws to control the selfish ass hats out there? or do we let it slide and give up the things we love because the "ass hats" are too out of self control to live in harmony with them? you know what? I think I'm gonna start checking out That Abate of Idaho group. maybe then my thoughts will be more than BS on a forum.

I think for sure it had to be that house with all the signage. It is VERY distracting. I'm sure they were trying to read why that homeowner is so pissed off and killed someone while trying to better educate them self. Best wishes to the family. | |

Sh*t happens and usually pretty damn quick. This lady was at fault but if any of us has never made a mistake raise your hand.I'm done counting thanks.Even though I wasn't there I would say that Aaron should have been able to see that the minivan was traveling too fast to stop at the sign.Having no protection on our bikes it is up to us to try and stay out of harms way. When it's our time to go we are gone so try to live your life with no regrets.
