Aggressive Driving Campaign

http://www.ktvb.com/home/Aggressive-...164513536.html

Highways 21 and 55 will be their main targets, especially if you are on two wheels.

I'm always free of aggression on the lowman loop.

Seriously though, there are a ton of accidents here. My guess is it has more to do with attitude. A lot of people around here on cruise control most of the time.

According to that website:
"Approximately 50 percent of the crashes involve aggressive driving," said Pattis.

This leads me to believe that 50% of crashes involve non-aggressive driving. Maybe they should crack down on non-aggressive driving instead!

Seriously, I see more aggresive driving by cagers and d-bag M/C riders on I-84 on my daily commute back and forth between the Broadway exit and Eagle Road then I have ever seen on ID21 or ID55.
The LEO's would have easy pickings if they stayed closer to home, but then that wouldn't get them outta town and into that beautiful mountain scenery, now would it?

I agree! I see the most aggressive drivers on I-84 and other highly traveled roads such as Eagle, Fairview and Meridian Rd.

Oh, there was a motorcycle cop under the Eagle Rd. overpass on the east bound side of I-84 this morning @ 5:15am.

I wish they would push back on the tailgating, and phone use on I-84. I actually stopped riding to work for a couple weeks due to almost getting run over several days in a row.

Tailgating & Speeding are considered "aggressive driving".
So is, I believe, failure to signal...

I drive aggressivly. Im not going to hang out in the slow lane and let the d bags run tghe freeway. They need to make it illegal for cell phones then crack down on people causing a dangerous situation by getting on the freeway and racing to the fastlane then crusing at 5-10mph under the speed limit. After that the people who pull out of a driveway or after a turn head straight for the farthest lane. Many times I have almost been taken out by this move. Cops in Idaho are idiots. Thats jusy my 2 cents

I don't like the loss of freedom. Such as "making Illegal", But what if we made the penalty of causing an accident or injury so harsh that word gets out and we govern our selves better. The" do what you like as long as your not hurting anyone". Just creats a society of oopsies and little repercutions of being a moron.

If they are targeting 21 and 55 they should call it aggressive riding campaign

I feel your pain!
This past Monday morning on my cruise to work on the FJ1200, just past the Vista exit westbound on I-84, I've rolled up to my usual commute velocity of 75-80 mph.
I roll up behind some poser in all black gear onna blacked out 600 in the fast lane cruising at about 70-75. I'm a polite kinda guy, so I follow him for a while thinking he's gonna catch a clue (my bad!) and move over to his unobstructed right.
Not gonna happen with this fool, so I move 2 lanes to my right to get around a car, and then back one lane to the left to get a clear shot of the pavement ahead, and who do I meet in my new lane but the clown on the GSXCBR6.
And he wants to race.....on the freeway.....during the morning commute!!??
OK, so fool school convenes, and away the FJ and I go.....when he is FINALLY able to catch up, I'm rolling back down past the ton mark, he blasts by, cuts across 4 LANES OF TRAFFIC to pull off at the Cole Road/Overland exit.
If the LEO'S aren't doing any better getting a handle on the priorities, I am seriously considering mounting a TASER on a mop handle with a can of Krylon to deal with the nearly daily displays of ignorance by cagers and, unfortunately, riders, that I see while just riding back and forth to work.
No wonder they fall off the Lowman Loop when riding all by themselves with NO traffic around!
(cagers and bikers)
As I've said before, the learning curve is steeper for some than others!

The cops should be focusing on what are the causes for aggressive driving/riding? If they get to the core of the problem, they will reduce the number of incidents.

1. They can first start focusing on drivers who drive too slow, and the reasons for driving too slow. They could be on the phone, texting our just involved in a heavy conversation with their occupants.

2. Focus on vehicles especially RV's, or folks pulling trailers who fail to use obvious turnouts when there is a stack of vehicles behind them. I think this is the primary reason why you see people getting so aggressive. I would love to see a cop pull out from one of the turnouts and light up the lead vehicle for driving too slow and failing to utilize the turnouts.

That non-aggressive 50% is really just passive aggressive, and the sole reason for all of the road rage incidents committed by us aggressive drivers. Makes perfect sense to me!

Can't remember how many times dumbshits that won't use the required turnouts have caused me to become aggressive.

Statistics would indicate that passive aggressive drivers are responsible for 100% of road rage incidents (pause for dramatic effect...), 50% of the time.

I forgot to tell ya'll. Monday when I-84 was backed up. traffic was stopped. There were 2 people standing in the road talking. So, some guy on an orange chopper was slowely lane splitting. Some Hog of a woman decided to play "Barney Fife" and turn her vehicle in front of him. I saw him stop and say something to her then walk his bike carefully between the cars and ride away. After a lil traffic movement I ended up next to her. She asked me if he was breaking the law. I said probably. BUT, as soon as you put his live in danger with your stupid lil move he had the right to get away from you. I laughed and said, He woulda got an $80 ticket. You would get 25 to life for volentary manslaughter if you had hit him and he bled out or hit his head. Cuz I would of testified that I saw you use your car as a weapon .... She looked suprised then got silent. stupid idiot. I don't know if what I said was totally true . I was trying to get her to understand that it was none of her flippin business what that guy was doing and by taking things into her own hands she could have killed or hurt someone.

We rode to Warm Lake thur (07-02) via Emmett,HSB, and didn't see any patrols...anywhere.
With all the recent camper/car wrecks (NONE) on the 2 target roads, it seems to be a waste of funds, and would be better spent on the commuter crowd.
