HELP!!! FZR is having issues!!!

So when i was riding the other day, the clutch just gave out and wouldn't engage. So i went back and adjusted the clutch, but now i am having the same issue as before the clutch went out. I can get the bike to move, but if i get on the throttle half way, the RPM's just climb and the bike doesn't move. I've messed with the clutch as best as i can, but i am now at a loss as to what else it could be. Any thoughts

Sounds to me like you might need new clutch plates? I have also had the clutch springs get weak and cause similar results.

When was the last time you changed the oil? How much slack does the clutch cable have? When was the last time the clutches were replaced.

that's the weird part, the clutch is an SRC racing clutch that was put in in feb/march. Haven't harped on it a whole lot (not gonna lie, i have done it though) and the oil was changed two weeks ago. clutch cable only has a little play in it, like there is supposed to be. Maybe the SRC clutch springs suck?

Yea first thing I would think is the clutch went bad. That is only because I burned my clutch on the F4i and had the exact same problem. Changed my clutch and it runs great.

But since you just changed it I duno. . .

Not sure if soaking would be a huge factor but did you soak the plates for a few hours as instructed?

If you move the arm on the motor where the clutch cable is connected back and forth. Understand you will only be able to move it enough to take the slack out of the cable. I am wondering if the cable is binding any. If the cable binds it may keep pressure on the clutch and over time can allow it to slip and burn up. I have seen it a bunch in dirt bikes.

If you think its the springs,You might try putting an extra washer on each clutch spring and see if that helps....Its mostly a temporary fix for weak springs...but i ran one of my dirtbikes that way for a couple years before i went and bought new springs.

Did you adjust the clutch after you replaced it? You may havd beenout of whack when you put the new clutch in and burned it up also. Are you running a full synthetic oil? Severeal peoe have had problems going to a full synthetic with clutch slippage and hard shifts.

Idk what the guy had in it when i bought it. I am running mobile 1 10-40 4T racing oil. The clutch cable is semi-new as well. I was told to break the clutch in and THEN adjust it as i went...i am guessing that guy didn't know what the hell he was talking about.....
