I Ride: 2006 Yamaha FZ6 | My Dad backed into my bike!
So after 5 years and 81,000 miles and not a single scratch or dent on my fuel tank, I go visit my folks in Portland and my dad knocks my FZ into the rocks. 3 big dents and one major scratched up fairing. The countless times I have warned everyone about how bikes get knocked over by people backing up, chop one up for me too. I't was so out of the way, I'm still trying to figure out how and the he managed to hit it.

That sucks. Sorry about your bike, but at least it's still rideable.

Way better than your dad backing over your wife and making her unridable. Just sayin' |

Shush. If I wanted to demonstrate a silver lining, I woulda said: Too bad his dad didn't back over my ex. (But that might make me look selfish) |

Your dad is just getting even for wrecking his car when you were 16. Oh wait, that was...

I Ride: 2006 Yamaha FZ6 | I agree, I never park behind cars for that reason. My bike was a couple of feet away to the left of the garage on a concrete pathway. He hit it only because he was trying to zigzag his way between two parked cars. The simple thing was for my sister to move her car and my dad could have backed staight out. I have a $500 deductible, and a new tank cost $800. I'm actively looking on the FZ6 forum for another tank, one will bound to turn up. |
