I Ride: '04 zx6r / '97 KX 250 | Tested out the new tire tonight...
I just had a BT-023 Sport Touring rear tire installed on my 6r to replace my BT-016 Pro. Once again Dennis hooked it up with great service and turn around. ![]() Rode up and down Bogus, ran through a corner I new to be clean about 4 times and had it cranked over left and right. Initial impressions, the 023 is stiffer than the 016 Pro. Which I guess is a given. To combat that I dropped the psi to 36, (I asked Dennis to air it up to 38) and took a turn out of my compression damping. Now it's pretty close to what I was used to as far as bumps in the road. There's plenty of grip for my bike and the way I ride with this combination of tires. I can comfortably say that on a 600, you don't need more grip in the rear than this tire can provide on the street. What's surprising, and I don't have an explanation for this but, with the 023 the bike seems more stable cranked over and it holds a line better. Maybe it's because my old tire was shot, I don't know. But even riding on sandy Bogus I had more confidence than I normally do. Now hopefully, I can get some decent mileage out of this thing. ![]() Oh and btw, this was with no scrubbing in or anything. This was the first ride on this tire. |

I got the same set two months ago and can't complain about them. I ride them mostly on freeway and they handle very good. My old tires used to drift when I turned and I had to fight it, with these turning is no problem.
