I Ride: HD SPORTSTER 1200CC CUSTOM

I'm begging for scraps

My Good friend's house burnt down last week ( http://www.ktvb.com/home/Red-Cross-h...167237435.html ). He has lost a lot.The news didn't say anything about his entire lively hood was in that garage. It all went up in flames. His bike is being stored at my house until he can get back on his feet. The tires on his bike scare me. He has been riding it in this condition. I would love to get some rubber for it but I too am having a hard time with money. Does anyone out there have some descent take offs that will make his bike safer? I can do the dismount and mount myself. The sizes are.front 120/70 ZR 17 rear 190/50 ZR 17
It's been rebuilt but the plastics are all beat to crap too. here are a couple pics. It's a 05 Kawasaki zx10r Ninja I think

The front tire is smooth all around.

and you KNOW I'll be ridin it if I get it fixed. LOL

I still have these: http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/3189436313.html
Not much better than what you have but should be able to get 100 - 200 miles out of them. Price is gas to come and get them.

Forget about used.

I wouldn't object to pitching in $20 or so along with others and getting him a new set. As long he doesn't abuse the tires doing burnouts. Maybe some of the local shops, even Cycle Gear who post up can offer a discounted set.

Losing your stuff to a fire must be tuff. Never had to go through it, but I feel for the guy and his family. Let me know.

If you want the take offs from my busa they are all yours. Not great but good for a few hundred miles yet. You come get them and all you will have invested is your fuel.
Let me know.

Ok so here's the deal. I will donate a brand new set of tire's and mount them for him. This is a terriable thing to happen to a family and would be more than happy to help out. They won't be top of the line but they will be a safe set of commuting tires. Please have him contact me.

Was still shopping around for tires for my bike till I read this. Screw finding the cheapest deal to get me by for a few months. Since you are going to donate a set to this cause, my business is going to you on this one. Always a pleasure doing business with you, will be talking to you tomorrow probably.
Way to step up to the plate on this one Dennis. It's good to see the community pull together for one another in time of need. And to see local businesses step up really shows who cares more about their clientele than their sales.

WOW! You guys are the best! He doesn't abuse them. He loaned his bike to a freind. When it was returned it had a huge flat spot in the tire. It was bad enough to feel the thumping at low speeds. He tried to burn down the tire to even it out. It didn't work so great.

Denise ,When can I drop the bike off to you?

I don't know the OP, but was ready to donate a little until I saw Dennis' (whom I don't really know either) post. However, I will need some work done on the bike this winter before next riding season starts..and I think I know just the place to get the work done! Cyclone Cycles definitely will have my business.

I do 99.9% of my own work, however if I need to farm something out, I will have no problem taking my bike to Cyclone.

In the midst of economical chaos and the rampant squabbling on this forum it's nice to see this gesture amongst strangers. Dennis I don't know you but you Definately will have my business.

Can I suggest everyone stickin a few $$$'s in an envelope and sending it to Denis? This is an expense coming out of his pocket to a total stranger. Let the.A burden shared among many is light, A burdon bore alone is heavy. I'm sending in some cash when I get some.

Not sure if he's actually going to need it, he's just picked up quite a bit of new business, one being from me. I'm going to be needing a new set of Michellin Pures in the next month or two. I was not even considering getting my tire replaced there, until now.

This is one thing that I didn't know, but Dennis can get you better pricing than online stores and can mount them at an awesome price.
I also do most of my work myself, but when it comes to tuning or internal work, he will get it.

Thanks Dennis and Lee for stepping up.I am no wrench and have used many shops in the Valley. The first time my bike was in their shop it came back cleaner than it went in.Never had any issues from the work that was done either.I quit buying tires online as they have good prices and a top notch balancing machine. It is the only shop I refer anybody to needing work done.

This shows very good character and I think Cyclone Cycles is here to stay. Not only on BRN but in the Treasure Valley. I've never personally met you Dennis but continue to hear nothing but good about the shop and you personally. This couple hundred dollar gesture just netted you thousands over the upcoming years...KUDOS my friend.
