Me being an Amsoil Dealer, I come across the name "Erik Buell" a time or two. I had NO idea that he was the man behind the Buell name. And now, looking at his EBR 1190RS, that bike is 40,000 dollars!!!! Holy cow!

I wonder if the Harley fan club is sending death threats to this guy yet; possibly referring to him as a communist Marxist, Un-American jerk, and satanic dragon priest wussy face doodoo head. It's not like hes right about those 3000 pound lumbering turds(no offense to harley owners).

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but HD sells a lot of bikes in the world. Most notably they sell image. But instead of bashing Harley for selling what their customers want (1940s tech at 2023 prices), we should all be thanking Harley. Notice that all the other manufacturers sell Harley clones, not Kawasaki clones? Had it not been for Harley's marketing model, most other manufacturers would not exist in their present form. They all had to compete with Harley to be successful. I was in Stanley listening to some 20yr old talking about how fast his R6 is. About halfway into his anti cruiser/Goldwing/any bike that's not an R6 rant, one of his older friends noted that his bike might be fast, be he isn't. The ADV riders with me got a kick out of that. After all, if you are going the speed limit, that performance doesn't really mean a lot out on the road. I'm not a fan of Harley's because aside from the XR1200 Sharfmobile, they just dont do much for me. But maybe we should jump down from our high performance soapboxes and remember that the ride to McCall takes the same amount of time on a sportster as it does on a sport bike.

dont forget about Harley’s secret $2.3 billion dollar taxpayer bailout. and another additional cool 1 billion they put on the books. This is why I think Rayguns must have been a chromosexual.

In all honesty though: Props to you for wanting to experience damn near everything. (traction, concussion, reconstructive surgery, spleen rupture, dislocations, broken bones) These are merely distractions from trying something new and fun! Keep it up! | |
