| REMEMBER WE OUTBRAKE CARS!
OK. I’m on the way home from running Bogus Basin road and am traveling south on Meridian road. I have to make a right onto Amity. The lights are timing well and I’m decide I’ll just get a little rowdy and really hit this turn hard. SO. I wait and wait and wait, lean on the front, start squeezing the front brake HARD (hey I’ve got a 320 disc up there, its fun!) and right as I start to press on the inside grip I hear SKIDDING TIRES BEHIND ME! Luckily there's nobody in the eastbound left turn lane so I gas it, let it run a little wide, and start looking in my mirrors. All I can see is a guy in a VW Jetta with his elbows locked rolling straight through the intersection. All I can figure is that he was behind me just mesmerized by the traffic tailgating me and when I cranked it down to turn I caught him offguard. I'm just glad he didn't take me out. REMEMBER: CHECK YOUR MIRRORS AT STOPSIGNS, STOPLIGHTS, and when you're about to bust a move in a right hand turn...Yikes... |

I keep a stopping distance chart tacked above my desk at work as a reminder. Since I'm not at work, am posting from memory so am sure there are errors: mph moto car ft ft 15 15 30 30 60 90 45 100 150 60 180 300 |

Yep. We stop good. It's important to remember that even if we can get stopped in time, the economy sedan behind us may not be able to . Keep your mirrors adjusted |

Just one of the reasons why I've added a better mirror to The Tard.
