Man sorry to hear that. It happens all too often lately. With all the motorcycle deaths this year I wouldn't be surprised to see people trying to pass a helmet law in Idaho soon. RIP, wear your gear and ride safe.

As a side note a guy that works in my building rides a dual sport and got run over yesterday by a truck that was signaling left but turned right. He said his helmet saved his life and he was well enough to ride the broken bike home. The paper doesn't put stories like that out but gear does save lives.

1st thing......Thanks Arwin!!

2nd.. Spoke to his brother and he was riding within his means but..NO he was not wearing a helmet!!! I guess the road is really rutted out from Meridian to Nampa.. when he went to go around a car his bike caught the rut in the road and just lauched him. ISP forgets to say that even with a helmet he would be gone.

I am very mad.. and not understanding.. why.. he would harrass me about getting on the bike and my "pink" helmet.

I travel that commute almost every weekday & I've often wondered how many accidents are actually caused by the road surface. It throws me around even when I'm driving my SUV. I just try not to change lanes too often in that or on the bike. One of these days someone is going to sue the state for wrongful death.

Well it is never the road itself that can cause an accident, in my case i was going too fast for conditions, that is right 10-15 mph on a 35 mph road is too fast for conditions. (heavy sarcasm)

This is the second time i can think of with in a few months of each other that i am certain the piss poor road had alot to do with it.

Condolences, especially since it is always the riders fault. (very heavy sarcasm)
My thoughts and prayers go out to family and friends.

All we can do is to continue to lead by example and ride with proper gear.
105 degree weather and i still ride with leather jacket helmet gloves and boots.

It's always a tragedy when someone dies. What makes some more pointedly tragic is when they leave kids behind.

What really hurts (to me) is when style kills. Just put a darn lid on. Saw something out of Illinois (?) the other day that said 71% of fatal motorcycle accidents involved people NOT wearing helmets.

Helmets save lives there's just NO argument on this issue. Wear yer lid. You may go home in an ambulance but YOU'LL GO HOME ALIVE.

Keep a eye out for a memorial fund. Post it when it shows up. Damn shame...didn't have to happen.

Sorry for the loss of your friend.

My wife has a Honda Accord, one day while I was driving it home from Boise there was no one on the road, so I decided to try something. Because the car gets sucked around in the ruts so bad I decided to see how far I could go with out touching the steering wheel. I took my hand off, but held them close to the wheel. I started this at the Meridian over pass and didn't grab the wheel until I got to the Garity exit. The car stayed in ruts, even on the curve. I hate driving that stretch of road.

I will not argue the fact about a helmet would have maybe saved his life... I am just mad cause he would always give me such a bad time about my helmet and yet.. he did not have one on!!! I guess I should have loaned him mine.. (cause that was out joke back and forth) he was jealous that he could not pull a pink helmet off!!
