| Idaho Life Flight Memberships (St Luke's & St Alphonsus)
Given the risks that tend to be associated with motorcycle riding, there's a decent chance that you or someone you know will take a ride in a really fancy (and expensive) helicopter at one point or another. Don't believe me? Its only May and two of our members have already been air lifted from Highway 21. A membership in the Saint Alphonsus Life Flight program is a good way to help fund the Life Flight program AND mitigate costs should the day arise when you or a member of your family should need their services. The membership is $50 for a year, $90 for two years, $200 for five years or $1000 for a lifetime membership. While the purpose of the membership program is to help them cover operating cost and it is not intended as an insurance program, there is an added benefit that, once your insurance company has made their payment, you won't be held responsible for any unpaid portion of the costs. That coverage extends to a spouse or life partner and any dependents living in your home who are under 23 years old. They're offering a life saving service so, even if you don't plan on needing the flight (I certainly don't!), please sign up for a membership today. http://www.saintalphonsus.org/svc_li...embership.html3 UPDATE: Here is the St. Luke's Air information http://www.stlukesonline.org/special...pply/index.php Membership cost = $50 per year ($45 per year for renewal) A membership to EITHER of these two life flight / air ambulance programs will have you covered by both. St Luke's provides a list of members in the Association of Air Medical Membership Programs here: http://www.stlukesonline.org/special...ervicearea.php |

I just signed up for mine. Hopefully I never have to use it. Figure I got full coverage on the bike, doesn't make much sense to not have myself completely covered as well. |

I bet they're going to be looking at the increase of membership and think, "wow, people are getting more supportive, this is great" and then they'll take a closer look and go "oh crap, these guys are write-off!"

Now, this sounds like a good cause to support. Hope none of us need it in the future, but look at it as supporting a needed service. I'll be signing up soon.

air st. lukes looks like it has a bigger network also. they both are interchangable because they consider themselves in network. but air st. lukes covers Idaho, washington, oregon, utah and california. |

I was going to look into this a little more because I came across some interesting information in the last couple of days. SIDRA, Southwestern Idaho Desert Racing Association offers this for $6 dollars a member a year if they get 100 or more. SIDRA membership is only $25 and $6 for lifeflight, so a total of $31. I will post more information when I get the specifics.

I work at St. Als and got the free membership as well, if you get a St. Lukes membership it's still good but they will probably end up taking you to St. Als as they are a level 2 trauma center and you'll probably need that if you F'd yourself up badly enough for Life Flight!!
