2pc are more convenient if you're mainly going to be riding street. I wouldn't own a 1 piece just because if I commute, I'm not going to throw on a 1 pc. One thing to be weary of- if you buy a 2pc suit, the jackets may be a little shorter than if you bought the jacket seperately. A lot of companies don't even sell the jacket alone if its in a 2pc model. If you buy a jacket and pants from the same company, they should be compatible. A lot of people on here have Frank Thomas, its easy to get because of Cycle Gear and I've been happy with it aside from a few zipper malfunctions- but NewEnough has a smoking deal on a Teknic 2 pc. Its under the For Sale Gear section. |

2 piece is perfect for street riding and convenience, but if you are going to ride on a track I would go 1 piece. You have less to worry about, like breaking the zipper that connects the jacket and pants together. You can get a better fit with 2 piece, but I still would recommend a 1 piece seems how you said for the track.

![]() My thoughts exactly. I have two "2 piece suits" and have done numerous track days in them but most of my riding is on the street. I wear one of the jackets daily to work and wear the pants on any real ride. I went with Frank Thomas because it actually fits me and that was difficult because I've got some tree trunk legs (the new Frank Thomas stuff doesn't fit my legs actually). | |

I'd get a 1-piece for the track. I like 2-piece for the street because they typically have pockets, which I use for wallet, ear-plugs, etc.

If you're gonna order leathers, hold off a week. I'm working on something that involves leathers custom made for you at a very good price. |

Any guesses on the $$ for a custom two piece yet? I have the not fat guy problem, 6-3 190 I don't fit the "normal" sizes the companies want to make for off the shelf.

I have a one piece A-Stars that may fit you. It is blue/white with xternal armour. I am 6'2, 195. The suit has never been down, just retired it when I switched bikes and it serves as a back up. PM me if you are interested. In answer to your original question 1 piece if you intend to do more than 2 track days a year or race. 2 piece otherwise. Cheers, B

I'm going to sound like a broken record, but just want to reiterate 1 piece if you are planning on doing mainly track, but two piece if you are going to ride mostly street. Here are the main advantages I see to having a two piece:1. Can wear the jacket seperately 2. Has pockets (or more pockets at least) 3. You can take your jacket off when stopping to eat or hang on a ride. 4. If you are tall and lenky like me you can actually get something that will fit instead of trying to swim in a 1 piece cause you don't want it to rack you every time you stand up ![]() Quote:

I've got one two piece with a 360 degree zipper. Like most are saying here, I'm doing mostly street and maybe a track next year. I commute with the leather jacket (freaking hot at 4:30 pm) but I feel safe with it on and just jeans. i'd like to get a perf leather 2 piece eventually though. I wear the leather pants only when I do hard rides that I plan to get a little lean on or attempt to break the sound barrier. If I become addicted to track (which I do with most things like this) I'll get the 1 piece later. If it does come to that though, I'll get track only bike first, then the 1 piece. But I don't see that happening for a LONG time. So, two piece is what I recommend unless you go to all the trackdays. If you can do all the trackdays, please let me be your friend. ![]() Up to you if you have the extra cash though. 2 piece will probably be cheaper too. Again, depends on what you're doing I suppose. |

Check out www.spartanleathers.com for info on the suits. Right now, they are offering 1 suit in 10 FREE but they don't have a way to track group orders. They're going to set things up to make sure that 1 in 10 BoiseRiders members gets a free suit. I'll email tonight (have the previous emails at home) to ask for status on the orders they were already processing to make sure everything is good with the supplier right now.
