Any recommendations for heated grips that you velcro on, and who might have the best price around here? This morning's commute got me thinking about it (brrrrrrr). TJD |

I've got no recommendations for anything that velcro's on but I'd check ADVRider.com (Adventure Rider). Those are the kind of people who ride long distances year round so you should find some good info there. I put grip warmers on SM610 over the weekend and was loving them this morning. They don't offer warmth on the back of your hand (or much of your thumb really) but I've also got hand guards which deflect a lot of the wind across my hands so I was feeling pretty good. |

I ride because I enjoy it. I don't enjoy it when my hands are frozen so I take the cage.

been thinking about gettin heated gloves for the winter commute. did liners and winter gloves last year and wasn't real happy with them. they just don't cut all of it out with 35deg temps and 75mph wind chills. have ran across a couple of harley riders at the chevron at gowen early in the am that swear by heated gloves. just haven't had the motivation yet, but in the next couple of weeks.......

I almost went with heated gloves but figured that when it comes to commuting, if its too cold for my heated grip, my legs and feet are going to be too cold for riding. I'm not planning on being so hard core this winter that I can justify buying a full set of heated gear and then deal with it all just for the 10 mile ride to work each day. Gerbings makes the best heated gloves from everything I've read while researching them. Tourmaster has a set line called "Synergy" but reviews indicate their heated vest is great but their heated gloves are worthless. |

I'll check them out. I wear longjohns. that seems to take care of the legs. sweatshirt and a lined joe rocket jacket take care of the uppers. don't have a dress code at work, so jeans and sweatshirts are nice. |

When it's cold I want to sit in my car and drink coffee. I would also think that morning commute is one of most dangerous times, as you have a bunch off 1/2 awake people rushing around trying to get to work. Ok, back to to OP topic... [/threadjack]
