I Ride: As often as possible! | SIDI Boots
SO now that the riding season is right around the corner I have decided that it is time for me to invest in a quality set of street boots. I have been researching quite a bit and I think I would like to get a set of SIDI boots. My question to you all is, do you know of any shop around town that is a SIDI dealer and would have some boots in stock? I would like to check out the boots in person so that I can try some boots on and see how they feel as well as what size boot I will need if I decide to order a set. |

what boots are you looking at getting? the one complaint i've heard a few people say is that they run pretty narrow. those that have fat feet may have an issue. thankfully i don't have that problem.

I want a boot that is $300 or less and is of racing level of protection/performance and quality while being comfy enough to wear on a day ride in the mountains or whatever.

Big Twin is a dealer for motonation. Motonation is the Sidi supplier for the US. So big twin might have some boots in stock.

I Ride: As often as possible! | I stopped by Big Twin today on my way home from school, and their selection of boots pretty much blows. They only had like maybe 6 pairs total and they were all more along the lines of a street/cruiser boot. They didnt have anything the I would classify as a racing level boot. But they did have one pair of sidis, but they were like a bottom of the line boot.

Ahh lame. What size of shoes do you wear? If you're close to my size, you can try on my boots. I haven't decided if I'm going to sell my gear yet, but if I do and they fit you could make me an offer |

So Ryan, which set of boots do you have? The vertigo's? How do you like them? Are they comfy to wear for a few hours at a time or more? |

They run pretty close to standard size. At least the 10 does. I'm right in between sizes. 11 is to big and 10 was a bit tight at first but after a few rides the leather loosened up. they are going to be plenty comfy on long rides. compared to your normal riding shoes/boots they will probably actually feel like there isn't as much protection there. if you are asking because of the exoskeleton crap on the outside i've never felt any of that. even before they broke in i couldn't feel any points that rubbed or supplied pressure.

I have the Vertigo Corsa Air which has been replaced by the vortice I think... But you can still find the Vertigo Corsa Air. They are comfy for long rides. I've only ever wore Sidi for street boots so I can't compare except between different Sidi models. But I've wore them for ohhhh 4 hour rides.

I got 10 years worth of touring, trackdays, canyon blasting, and a couple of lowsides on my Sidi Vertebras. They are still fantastic. I don't think you can go wrong with them.

I own a pair of the vertigo corsa's they are great for people with narrow to semi narrow feet. If you have duck feet like my amigo u wont be a happy camper. I'd suggest just doing what Tydd suggested and order em' try em on walk around for a good 20 mins in the sore them make a decision.

Gonna have to echo the 'good if you don't have wide feet' sentiment on the Sidi's. That's been my experience. I have an old pair of vertebras that put the wicked squeeze on my instep. If I go up a full size over my normal size, it gives some relief in Sidi's. I'm making due at the moment with a pair of Oxtar SS Performance that are plenty wide, but I really covet the vertigo. You won't find anyone in the valley that stocks them. You'll have to hit a bigger market to run across a shop that has a variety of makes and sizes in stock. Luckily my life as a circus tent repairman finds me in several large metropolitan areas every year, and hitting bike and gear shops are what I do for fun. That and amateur ornithology. Later, Rob. |

I just picked up a pair of Vortices for the track. The 43 would be the same size as the 42 in Alpinestar. Good boots, they fit well and they are the most adjustable boots out there. Now I just need to break them in before next weekend.
