Haha... no, really. So my wife is looking for a jacket. We were looking at mesh with zip-out liner. Just wondering what jackets you all like or have experience with.

You should check out Cruisin Biker wear. They have a great selection from mesh to leather, prices are all right too. They have mostly Cruiser jackets but they do have a fair amount of sport jackets. Plus free coffee and donuts. My wife found a jacket she is going to get there.

If she's looking for mesh, it shouldn't be that bad. If ever she's looking for leather - best of luck to you! What matters most in women’s gear are the measurements. Be sure you know what they are and how they work with foreign manufactures. The main issue is that gear manufacturers are male dominated and are just beginning to get a clue about various shapes in women….(many makers don’t provision for “shapes” just yet..but they are getting there!) For mesh, I would check out www.motorcycle-superstore.com they have great deals and an awesome return program. They have one of the best selections of women’s gear that I’ve seen. Customer service is fantastic and they put up with my incessant trading of coats until I found one that fit me :-) My Alpinestars Stella coat was great – sold it to WD’s wife. Zip out liner, armor, kept me cool in the summer….and was heavy enough that in the fall I could get some extra miles out of it. It’s not warm enough for winter riding though. It can be a bit breezy for being a textile coat…but for the price I paid, it was a great coat and did me well for the year I sported it. Arwen has the Power Trip Stilletto Mesh – it’s pretty fun looking. I’ve checked it out and it looks like nice coat for the summer. During my coat search, I picked up the Scorpion NipTuck. I really liked it. If your gal has any kind of a chest on her, I recommend this. They have “pleats” where the “chest” goes and makes extra room for more comfort. Note: most coats are built to smash your body together….it can be very uncomfortable and hard to breathe when things are poking out your back like they shouldn’t be. I was pretty impressed with the coat - - I only returned it because the coat and pants as a suit weren’t track approved. I can’t say enough about the Teknic gear. I’ve tried AGV sport, Scorpion, Alpine Stars, and Teknic and the Teknic, by far, has the best quality that I’ve seen - - but that is for leather. I haven’t checked out their mesh/textile gear yet. AGV Sport is like wearing doll clothes. Go a size or even two sizes larger – depending on her frame. The best advice I can give is to pay very close attention to what country the gear you are looking at is made in. For example, Teknic is made in Italy. Their sizing chart is nothing close to a UK sizing chart is not even comparable to the US sizing chart. It would seem that Italian women have no boobs, largish waists and teeny tiny shoulders *LOL* Go a size larger. Alpinestars fits pretty true to size, you should be ok with going standard sizes for her in this line. I looked at a few Joe Rocket coats, but wasn’t impressed with their safety features. You have to be careful on some of them as their stitching isn’t double lined in some of their coats. I hope this helps!!! | |

My girl has the Joe Rocket Mesh Cleo 2.0 jacket and loves it. When the liner is out it is perfect in the warmer weather. Got it off of motoxoutlet.com for pretty cheap.

Thanks for the input. She actually kinda fell in love with the Scorpion nip/tuck. The previous running favorite was the ladies version of the Olympia that I have. As far as fit, she's got long arms and hips, but not much for chest so finding one with long enough arms that's not too big through the chest/shoulders is the challenge.

I have this Fieldsheer mesh jacket with zipped liner from Happy-Trails store on Chinden. It is a great jacket, full armored, and looks good on the body too. :-) Click this link to see what it looks like. http://www.compacc.com/p.cfm/c/1002001/p/20080 |
