Its a decent helmet, its the same model as the one I started off with.

Lower noise level than my Shoei, heavier and slightly less ventilation. Its really not a bad helmet tbh. I paid like $300 for mine when I bought it, hopefully you didn't get hammered on price like I did.

Personally I would stay away from Icon if I was you. Also those gloves aren't going to do much for you, should you ever crash. One of the first things to get ripped off is gloves and boots. You should go for a gauntlet style glove, they cost more but will not rip off, which is what the second strap is designed for.

I don't have any issue with Icon helmets but, I'm with Stubby on the gloves - those won't do squat for you in anything faster than a parking lot crash.

Some much more sturdy, full leather gloves with a gauntlet will seriously save your hands! I've been down twice where a good pair of gloves became garbage but a lightweight pair of gloves would have left me with hamburger hands.

That's the same one I have my eye on, I saw it at cyclegear and fell in love with it. I'm sure by the time I can get it will be discontinued or I will have changed my mind again

I picked up the new HJC CL-16 Carnage lid when I bought my bike. Even comes with a Pinlock no fog insert. Also snagged a pair of the BKS Stingray race gloves for $50.00 off at Cycle Gear.
