GoPro mounting options

so i got my gopro hero 5 today and i was thinking of where i should mount it on the bikes.

so i figured i would ask you guys what kind of views you would like to see while im out on group rides and track days?
personally im tired of seeing vid from the tank and think it would be cool to see it from the belly pan looking forward or to the rear so that its close to the ground and you get the tires and suspension in there.
or i could even do a butt cam style.
lemme know, i can mount this thing almost anywhere.

If you are wanting to improve body position then do the tail mount - although we really don't want to see your butt. Also put it on your helmet for a couple sessions.

I don't think I would go with the bellypan as it would be easy to destroy the camera or mount. Guess it depends where you would put it on the fairing.

Tank mounts are good for seeing angles/speedo/etc, you could also place it on the headlight area so you don't get the warping of the windscreen.

A low mount is something I havent seen yet. Maybe front fender but you might get too much vibration there.

Sweet! You'll have to let us know how you like it.

I think it would be cool to see the front tire in the frame, so you can see the suspension working.

Nice, that's probably gonna be my next camera, as my current digital has died. Only thought is, if you mount it out in front of any protection such as the windscreen, you may want to look into a small piece of clear plexiglass on the front of it to protect it from rocks that are kicked up in front of you.

I just got one for Christmas and while I haven't got any good footage on the motorcycle I have got some reasonable stuff on bicycles. I think the key to making a good video (not that I have done that yet) is many camera angles. It doesn't seem to matter what angle you find, after about 20 seconds it is nap time. I also find that the quick release mounts shake a little without a shim (I have used electrical tape with reasonable success). There are a ton of GoPro video's on youtube to look at for Ideas.

I like the wide angle lens. How does the mount work? Do you bolt it on to the bike somehow?

Pitcher looks nice and sharp. How much video can it hold, or is it a s.d. card?

Have you seen any of BWhip's videos? He's done a wide variety of mounts including tank, front fairing, tail facing rider, tail facing back, side fairing aimed low/front, etc.

it has a big strong suction cup for like painted surfaces and 2 other mounts it can clip into that use double sided sticky tape.
it has a 170 degree lens.
with a 2 gig sd card it will shoot 56 minutes at 30 frames per second.
or i can do a photo every 2 seconds till the batteries run out.

I use Ram mounts on my bike. They make a huge variety of options. I have two of them on my handlebar clamps and a third that I can clamp to a frame rail or footpeg mount.

Here's one from last November. Camera is my Canon FS 200 mounted on the handlebars with Ram mounts shooting through the windshield.
