Hey thats one of the ones I sent you... I think it's a decent price, you may get him to drop off a little since he's been trying to sell for a bit now. Just give it a good looksy and take your buddy who rides also to listen to it and get a feel on how well it was maintained.

Linker has that same bike thats in that ad and he has I think 30,000. I know Bailey has an 06 Gixxer 600 that has 30,000. Mileage isnt too relevant. Maintenance records are helpful and try to buy from someone that takes meticulous care of their machines. You will put on 3,000 minimum this summer if you go on rides with us...... I did 4,000

I Ride: '02 GSXR 600

Yeah, I got mine with 5k miles @ 2 years ago and now it has 25k. Haven't had any issues with it so far. <knocks on wood>
GSXR's and I assume most bikes will go to 50-60K, and even much further if properly maintained.

Damnit I need to ride more...I got mine with 7800 and it only has 22k on it 2 1/2 years later. But on my behalf the first year I had no one to ride with as I was still getting comfortable on her. Hell I think I put 5-6k on her last year with just BRN rides.

Something wrong

Look at the back of that bike. The shock must be screwd up, because it is sitting too low.

Hmm Good eyes, But it may just be the angle he took the shot from, but it's definetly something to check on.

On a side note if you want one for cheap this ad just popped up again. I've been seeing it for the last few weeks.http://boise.craigslist.org/mcy/1629275376.html

And before you discount it as an ubsurd idea, is this going to be your first bike you've ever ridden?? Because it is wise to keep your first bike as cheap as you possibly can as most new riders will make some mistakes their first year. And it's not as hard on your pocket book if you make that mistake on a cheaper bike that your not to worried about than a super nice and clean bike that you'll beat yourself up for.

An example of what I mean is I helped a friend get a bike last year. 99 gsxr former track bike. Not bad had decent paint and ran phenominal. He rode it for two months, then he thought he had plenty of experiance and upgraded to a 08 GSXR 750. A week later he was washing it to go to bike night in his driveway (which sloped down to the road) while drying it off he bumped the tail with his hip and because it wasn't in gear it rolled off the kickstand and he watched his 8k dollar bike slide down the driveway on its side. Dumb mistake yes, but it wouldn't have effected him as much or hurt his pocketbook as much if it was that old track bike and not a brand new machine that needed new side plastics. But thats just my

it is my first bike ive ever riddin, but im a fast learner. and i heard you grow out of 250s fast. we have considered the cheaper bike so that if something happens it wont be a cry myself to sleep moment. that yellow and black 2001 GSXR 600 may be a good choice.

You know I think it's time for bed...I looked at that YZF and thought it was an old YZF600R...NOT I think that bike might be a touch much for a first bike as I realized it was a 1k. I don't wanna see you wadded up in a corner somewhere, and that bike could really kick an inexperianced riders azz if their not careful.

Good plan. I'd go check out that GSXR. Just make sure and take a big wad of 100's or even fiddy's as that big azz wad of cold hard cash can really motivate people to reconsider their asking price.

He did say that he wanted to spend 3-4k but how happy would he be if he picked up a nice bike for only 2.

yes but i would take someone that knows bikes with you to check it out and see what kind of fixes you have to do. bad fork seals, tires, other fixes will affect how much the bike is worth.

as long as he knows the little things to look for, bent fairing stays, hidden damages, etc. dont overlook any little detail and nit pick the hell out of any bike you look at to devalue it to the price you want to pay

Hey Acate I believe in this one. If I hadnt of had bliz with me I probably would have bought a junker that was really expensive to fix. I would take Don with you if he is offering. I dont know your brother or the extent of his knowledge.
