Well.... that means I'll have get up, go get the bathroom scale, take it out to the garage....
I found this on another forum.... someone comparing 2cts to Corsa III's...

2ct is 12lb 11oz / coursa is 13lb 6oz. The front 2ct is 8lb 12oz / coursa 9lb 12oz

I'll verify shortly.

Well everyone we know who the real person behind the YOU SUCK is Loopy because you suck for getting those tires. Now if they are as good as they say they are, I will have to get a set.

How do the Pure's compare to the 2CT's?

I've only got a new front 120/70/17, but it weighed out at 10.4lbs w/ the plastic wrap, a piece of cardboard wrapped around the tire w/ the shipping label, and a MotoUSA magazine shoved inside the tire.

Magazine and shipped label removed, still in the plastic wrap it came in at 9.8lbs.

I weighed it twice each time to be sure.

Got the tire for $96.99 shipped from www.motorcycle-superstore.com, the same place I'm getting my EBC ProLite's from.

is that 10.4lbs 10 lbs, 6.4 ounces or 10 lbs 4 ounces?
The 120/70 pure weighs 8 lbs, 9.8 ounces.

that half of a pound weight savings would help offset my big brembo fullfloaters, even though they're already mounted on marchesini forged mag wheels.

No, just 2ct's. My referance to Corsa's below was because the weight was quoted from someone elses weight comparison between the two. I just left in there in case anyone was curious about Corsa's vs 2ct's weight wise.

Weird...mine came out at 9.8 and you've got 9.2, so either our scales are off or the plastic baggy that my tire is still in weighs .6 lbs. Either way, we get the idea.

Probably differences in scales. I weighed mine on a digital bathroom scale. It's a decent one, ($45) but I wouldn't bet my life on it's exact accuracy. The scale at my gym gives me about a 1-2 lb difference... so

I would be interested however, in knowing how much weight difference there is between a brand new tire, and a well worn one. Guess I can find out when I change mine.

Yeah, I've got a completely toasted tire on the front as well, so I guess we'll see who weighs it first.

ok aside from my 1/4 mile blast on these tires so far what i have learned is

1 very greasy on scrub in more than any tire i have ever ridden the dam things had me wondering a couple times lol scrub in was done via hb and black canyon run this afternoon !!

2 after scrub in noticeable grip difference from pp to the power pure they stick like glue !!!!!

3 warm up is really quick

4 feed back of road imperfections feel a tad bit softer but im running 32/32 for air pressure

great tire so far !!! i will keep ya posted after miller and let ya know what i think

There's an article on the Power Pures in the new Roadracing World magazine. They made a big deal about the lighter weight.

So how did you like the new tires at Miller? Do you think they're better than the 2ct?

the track was green not much grip early in the day so i slipped a bit but once i got settled in it was game on !! i like the tires but not the same turn in as standard powers !! plus it dosnt help when you ask the tire guy at the track what pressures to run and he shrugs his shoulders and says i know nothing about these tires this coming from a Michelin rep !! but al in all good tires i really need to see how they do in higher temp weather
