there is no hope for you .......... kidding !!

could you use one sure .
will it keep you from killing batteries ya in the sense that you will not need a new one for a very long time ! due to they handle abuse very well!
as for the grip warmers well ...... ya i need to re wire those to a keyed power source !!

I think somewhere in childhood most people learned out to flip that little switch to the OFF position.

HaVocX: I've been following the development of this idea for quite awhile on other forums: http://www.ducati.ms/forums/showthread.php?t=51537

So far, the people using this are pretty hapy with low incidents of failure. Most of the failures I have read are related to improper charging or imbalanced packs. There is alot of info out there regarding this mod as it is very popular with the race crowd.

How would we know if the pack was imbalanced? For as affordable as Loopy is selling them, I'm guessing there isn't really a warranty period. Can single cells be tested and replaced if their bad or does it require just replacing the whole thing?

Gotcha, that what i was thinking, sounds pretty straight forward. I have a V-rod guy who is interested too. Let me know what your ETA for a battery for one would be

I understand that there are chargers out there that automatically balance the packs. I'm in contact with a guy who has one and am waiting for him to give me the model information.

from my rc days I know you could pick these charges up pretty easily...maybe not so much now since hobby stores seem to be taking a hit due to the ###tty economy

for example: http://www.rctoys.com/rc-toys-and-pa...FR0pawodeBIcTg

ok cells can be replaced if need be !! if there is an issue bring it back and i will fix it if it isnt user error ie dropping ect !! as for cell ballencing i have that covered so its a non issue !! these batteries can be looked at like a rc car battery but with much more power !! they can be taken apart and fixed with little to no problem ! just covering the issue so everyone knows !! this isnt a git rich ploy its a way for me to bring you guys at the forum or area a new toy at a better price !

1/26/2007?!

You keep taking the pics in front of the microwave....are you actually using it to shrink that plastic around the batteries, or just coincidence?

I figured that...but ya never know, maybe the batteries can tolerate it or something - people use what they have. They look good, good luck w/ the sales. I'd still like one down the road.

If you do decide to heatshrink the batt in the microwave, be sure to have the camera going...... it will probably be awesome

Thread revival!!!

So I'm not trying to spend $80 just to charge my Shorai battery, and since people are making similar batteries using batteries from hobby shops, is there a cheaper alternative to charge my Shorai 8 cell?
