I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush

User Review: 2lb Loopy battery

With my new A123 8 cell in hand, I threw the Duc up on the stands and grabbed the wrenches today.

After much contemplation, I decided to keep the existing battery box "as is" and just replace the old battery for the Loop Super 8 Cell. This allows me to keep the water out of the battery and simplifies the routing. My voltage rectifier is right under the seat and I didnt' want the battery to endure the heat that it produces on a constant basis. Install was about as straight forward as putting on velcro shoes. 10 minutes later I fired the bike up. Lots of juice on the first try. Nice.. I let her warm up and put on my gear. First three gears down Pierce Park had the front tire hanging in the air until I got bored. Sweeeeet! Power wheelies never came so easily* I did a loop through Hidden Springs to Bogus and back. The lost weight is INSTANTLY noticable. The bike flicks better, accellerates harder, and stops faster. Getting ham-fisted with the throttle means that the tire comes off the ground, period. Any mod that can improve a bike on so many levels, for hardly any money is a great deal. My bike has lost between 30 and 40 lbs since I bought it new, and each new diet is having a bigger effect upon the feel and performance. My next mod is new aluminium venturi intakes with oversized K & N filters. This will be worth 4 to 10 more hp and 5 lbs less weight. After that, its on to a 1080 big bore kit, cams, and a lightened flwheel (minus anther 5lbs). Woof! My goal is a 360lb bike with 100lb ft of torque. Thanks Loop. This rocks!

This battery will not loose enough juice to warrant a battery tender.

Battery Tender does NOT state that it supports Lithium Ion/NiMH Batteries....

http://batterytender.com/automotive/...-at-0-75a.html

Here...fuk it.....i will help you out.....IF you insist on having a battery tender for your 12-18v lithium/nickel metal based batteries......pull apart any new Dewalt battery charger that you likely have laying around and use that.......or hell dont even pull it apart...just get some small aligator clips and connect one set of ends to your SUPER LOOP battery and one set of ends to the contacts of a dewalt style battery charger....

EDIT: I forgot to mention this style of charging may not be suited for batteries over 4 cells....HAHA!
