Exclamation Dangerous driver to watch out for.

Just today coming back from lunch, I was in my car by the way. As I was about to pass a light blue '00-'03 ford taurus when the driver swerved in front of me forcing me to slam on my brakes to avoid hitting him. He passed the truck he was behind, got back in the right lane and did the same thing again! Finally he got back in the right lane and while i was slowly passing him he was flipping me off for no reason while i was minding my own business, i merge in front of him, got off at the garrity exit only to glance to my left as he sped up to be even with me while i was on the offramp with he and his wife both flipping me off again! So watch out for a light pale blue ford taurus, possibly with a doberman in the car. The man had reddish brownish hair, beard & mustache with glasses, possible drug addict.

This is fairly common I guess. I have almost the same story, but involved a dude in a pool cleaning company truck.

Main differences:

1. I was on a scooter
2. Dude eventually caught up with me to apologize because I pulled out a camera and snapped a pic of his truck.

you gotta watch out for those guys in ford sedans, they're crraaazzzyyy...LoL
I feel you pain though, on the way back from Boise on the bike a couple weeks ago there was a guy tailgating me. He was close enough I could have reached back and ttouched the chevy emblem on the grill of his truck. I couldn't keep away from him either, if I did 80 he did 80, if I did 90 he did 90, if I did a buck20 he couldn't catch me. hahahaha

Get the plate number and call the police with as many details as you possibly can. They will show up at someones door if given enough reason.

The knuckles on you gloves will crack and shatter glass. Not advocating this route, but it works if it comes to that.

Just remember as you are fumbling for the camera (mine was a camera phone in jacket pocket) that it's better to let the dillweed go then lose control of the bike just to snap a picture. I was going 35 up Americana on my putt-putt. Had I been on my motorcycle, would have probably just been pissed and gone on my merry way.

Something similar happened to me while I was in my car also. Called the cops and reported him as a DUI. I couldn't beleive it when a moto officer showed up within a couple of minutes. I was following the guy from quite a ways back, flagged down the officer and pointed the guy out. Wish I could have overheard what happened after the officer stopped him..

White Nissan with teeny-bopper texting right behind me. I could almost reach out and touch her hood at the stop sign. She kept inching forward. She was a little upset when I couldn't go faster than 25 the rest of the way down the road

I love doing that to piss of the people that tailgate me. I also like to do frequent brake checks, or stop really quick to miss the mysterious creature that darted out in front of me.

I Ride: a damn cop magnet

I was on the wb freeway right before Eagle road..guy in a truck moved right into me. I kind of suspected he would do it (dont know why) and I just moved right over with him. I tapped my knuckles on his window and waved like "HELLO?!?" and he had the "oh chit" look on his face.

Stupid cagers!

Unfortunately, as bikers we are always the losers in the "brake for the mysterious animal and get run over" Dept. Cautious avoidance of these morons is the only real defense we have. I am always happy to let someone cut me off, then follow them long enough to pass a cop and get them involved if I think the incident is egregeous enough or intentional. I have signed several tickets over the years, helped a few drunks into the back of a squad car, and even have gotten off my bike in traffic to have a chat with offending motorists stuck behind me at the light. I find that when I carry my gun on my side, or a shotgun slung over my shoulder while riding, the general public is always much more polite.

I wonder what kinda hand signal you'd give a cop you were passing about the vehicle in front of you driving like a jackass.

Not true...I got swerved at by a drunk on the shoulder of the highway. I saw his swerve in the lane when I was looking in the mirror, I leaned over far enough that I pinned myself between the bike and the barrier and still felt a distinct brushing against my leg. Caught up, got the plate, called the cops...8hrs later they said too much time had passed to do anything about it.

Fuck you cops...never there when you need them, always when you don't.

I am with you james. Was riding the freeway from Caldwell one time. Actually had the asshole rub my back tire at 55mph. He took off. Amazingly I caught up with him at the Cole off ramp. Call the state troopers and all I got was what do you want us to do about it? Fuck em.

Well officer, I want you to do the same thing one of your coworkers did to me when I flipped off, cutoff and brake checked this dumb cunt in her Prius doing 15 in a 40mph zone while I was done following her dumbass in my car...find me 3+hrs later, pull me over and write me a ticket for reckless driving based on nothing but her word and her word alone.

I got outta the ticket, but it was still a waste of a few hours of my day. I'm always going to be an asshole driver, but some other passive aggresive sheep out there might consider twice fucking with a bike once a cop got off his fucking ass and enforced this kind of shit against cagers as well. Let the judge decide who's guilty and who's innocent; not the asshole, prejudiced cop who doesn't like street bikes.

Are you folks under the impression that an officer has the option to not investigate an incident when you file a report? Let me help you out with that: They don't. Stop by the local office if you have to and file a report. Thats what investigators do. Calling an officer to report a dangerous driver, doesn't have to be complicated. Three years ago I got cut off and stuffed into the center lane by an idiot teenager who almost hit me (and the guy in front of me). I called it in as a drunk driver. As a bystander, I don't need probable cause to accuse her of drinking, and DUI calls get top priority. Only had to follow her for about 3 miles down Eagle road before she got popped by a state bull. Passing the sobriety test became the least of her worries.

Their option is priority. If they don't give a shit, then it's not a priority. If it had been a motorcycle cop, a cops kid, etc...they would have been all over this shit. But since I'm just "some guy" and I didn't lose a leg, it went to the bottom of the pile. To this day, I still have this guys license plate number and would LOVE to find out the address. Fuck cops.

If I had the option of following the guy who tried to hit me, while calling the police, while riding the bike...then I would have. I made the effort to catch up to him to get his plate, pulled back over to call the police, and then called again when I got home 45 minutes later...just to get told basically not to call back and that they'll call me. I was so fired up, I called back again about 3hrs later (mind you, this is 5am) because I was still so fired up and the adrenaline was still running. I got told they're doing other things and someone would call me. Around noon is when I get the blowoff of "it's been too long, there is nothing we can do" by some cunt desk jockey. This is why street justice happens. Fuck cops.

Is it possible that this "f*$k cops" attitude is evident on the phone? Filing a report, in person has always gotten results for me. (I make sure to take off my "F*$K DEM PIGS!" shirt before entering the station). I suspect that it doesn't take a genuis to figure out that if Joe Schmoe is willing to come in and take the time to write it down, they become interested enough to check it out. I suspect that the bigger the town, the less likely this is to be true.

I highly doubt anyone calling 911 is all calm and collective, kinda comes w/ the job I would think. Attitude from customers isn't what distracts me from doing my job...because at the end of the day, it's still my JOB. This did happen to me in Seattle though, but how much is really going on at 2am on a weekday? There's nothing that can be done now short of me getting an address and dealing w/ it myself. Nothing like a calculated, 3 months later payback to take the edge off...

Get their attention? Seems like it would just tick them off; and considering they've almost run you over once, what's to keep them from finishing the job?.. Hey, it's even street justice!

Yes, "cooling down and calling the cops later" isn't appealing, and f-all may get done about it, but it makes much more sense than picking a fight with someone who may just run your arse over. And is fully encased in metal. And has a 1-2 ton advantage.

Tish, I appreciate the "knock knock, who's there? Oh, yeah, me. Can I have my lane back now?" approach.

I almost got run over once because I was sitting on the shoulder and a drunken asshole decided to swerve at me...big difference between some stupid soccer mom not looking in her mirror as she changes lanes into me.

I've got a 6 to 1 power advantage, so the mirror breakage will be happening as I'm speeding away. Problem solved, message sent. Ticked off? Too bad for them...I guarantee they'll think about me more next time they do something stupid or not looking vs passively giving them the middle finger.
