Leathers Repaired.

Does anyone know where I can get a zipper put in my leathers so they zip together?

They're in Portland, but have an excellent reputation:

Have used Gypsy Road Leather before, and have been
happy with her work, but I wouldn't count on her doing
the repairs by the promised date. I think a couple of
BRN members vowed never to go back to her.

Have no experience with Rider Rags on Overland which
might be worth calling:

I had a pair of m/c boots with crappy zippers, and was
able to get them replaced with high quality zippers and
was very happy with their work. Not sure whether they
would be willing to work on leathers or not:

I had them replace a zipper in my leather jacket. It cost me $15 and they had it back to me in 3 or 4 days.
I'm happy with their work but that's the only thing I've had done there

Do you trust any to make mods to leather pants? (not that I would thread jack or anything)

Gypsy Road Leather has been doing my custom leather work for 16 years. All of my custom patches were made by her. It is accurate to say that she tends to be fully booked for weeks at a time because of her reputation for great work. However, as with all things in life, there are ways to mitigate this. I like to show up with movie passes for her kids. That usually does the trick.

Your on of THOSE guys? A line cutter.

Did she make your suit or just been making repairs?

Yes. I'm one of those guys who learned early on in life that if you want to get your leatherwork done by the official sponser of the Bros. Speed Clan, you oughta bring some grease. She made my custom patches, custom fit my jacket (damn my long arms), and installed heavy duty zippers on all of my gear.

Carol at Hap Tallman's on Overland in Boise does excellent work. She's been working on my gear for 25 years. She just altered the cuffs on my A'stars jacket this spring. She's reasonably priced and does a great job. Note: this is a cowboy supply store, she makes chaps, gloves, etc to order. putting zippers in and doing alterations is cake for her. She also does lettering, etc

Kudos for these guys, they did a zipper in my jacket and my leathers for ten bucks. They have helped Chris do bungee stuff too.

I need someone that can cut a couple inches out of the upper legs of my pants. Any Idea on which of these people would be best? I called gypsy rose a few times when I bought my pants (since cycle gear has their card there) but could never seem to get anything more than an answering machine
