New to the site

Hey, I'm Mike... Figured I'd jump on here and say "HI" since whitedevil's giving me a bad time about not introducing myself before I posted
I work with ConradM and he said I should check this place out. Nice to find a forum that tailors to all bikes/riders. I grew up riding on the dirt with a little street tossed in here and there. I dont have a street bike right now but have been working on getting a supermoto legal for the street. As far as bike interest go, supermotos, cafe's, and naked bikes are my favorites...so that should explain the idea behind the current project (which was kinda inspired by a Roland Sands Design's KTM cafe racer)
I think I covered all the main points of an intro

You'll get there.

You need to prioritize and sell that rifle.

The lighting coil and lights are getting ordered this weekend. I also found a place that makes custom springs (custom spring rate, length, and even will powder coat the rear) so that may be in the near future as well.

Welcome, bike looks awesome. What year is it? I used to have an 88. Those things scream. I had an FMF pipe on mine and it sounded great.

It's an '86, so it should be pretty much the same as yours. I dont think much changed on that bike after '86, other than colors and stickers. A pipe is definitely in the future, I'm even thinking about running dual shorty silencers (kinda like the CRF 250) in hopes that it'll quiet it down a little without have a silencer hanging off the back of the bike all the way back to the end of the swing arm. Conrad thinks it's too loud the way it is and makes me shut it down a block away from his house to keep from waking up his kid
I've heard that the FMF pipe really smooths out the power band plus adds a little on top...Did you have the bike with the stock pipe and added the FMF yourself or did it have it on there when you got it? I'm wondering if the rumors I've heard are true.

Hmm, well that may simplify things a little...

The bike you just got legal, did you have an off-road plate on it before you got the street plate? I was wondering what all I have to bring in to get the street plate for it, haven't looked it up yet....

Mike mocked up his suspension to see what it will look like lowered... So I cruised over and snapped some pics.

It's crazy, the seat height is like a half inch lower than my 6r.

Rumors are very true. The FMF really brought it to life. Mine was the exact same color pattern as yours.
