In preparing for a trip from the Seattle area, to Montana, and back to Eastern Oregon, and home, I was referred here. (From Desvio at PNWRiders) So, we are a group of riders, Gold Wings, me on an Ultra Classic, couple of big Ninja's, and a BMW, that have been riding together for over 10 years. We are looking for interesting roads, unusual sights, (ghost towns, abandoned missile bases, or neat museums) and good places to eat. Missoula first night, Going to the Sun Road, somewhere else the next night, (thinking of heading down towards Anaconda, hitting the Pintler Loop, and mining for sapphires.)

Eventually riding thru John Day, and back home along FS 25 in WA.

Welcome. I would help you out, but I haven't had the opportunity to ride up north yet.

I'm figuring you've already ridden the Lewiston Hwy? Or the Spiral Highway right outside of Lewiston Id? I've also heard Hwy 12 through the LOLO Pass towards Missoula from Idaho is awesome. I personally have not ridden it yet, maybe this week.

Oh yeah, if you hit Lolo, be aware that everyone is in touch with the ISP. We hauled past some cabins, and were stopped about 10 miles west, for 7 over. Enforcement was up, when we went thru a couple of years ago, and reports continue to trickle in.
