I had a 05 750, but didn't have an issue with my knees, but then again you are taller than me.

I plan on a season pass from Apex and possibly a couple of MMP days as long as they are full track or perimeter. So I will be there. i thought about racing this year, but they may be getting rid of the clubman and I am not sure that I am ready. I may have to just get an 09 GSXR for the track this year and race it next....... As for the chicken strips, yes on the 1000 and after the last trackday not a whole lot on the 600.

Clubman will be gone for 09. Well they haven't actually made that official, but they are going to do a provisional novice license instead. There are more for the provisional setup which they started at the end of the 08 season, then there are for keeping the clubman license. Right now they are talking about a mentoring program for the provisional novice racers.

When it comes to the street its ok to have chicken strips. Especially if you hang off your bike more, your bike will be more vertical and allow you to have a saftey margin. Nothing to prove on the highways, and the price for failure isn't worth it

Re: Hello

Not really promoting chicken strips, its just that for the street it doesn't matter. I mean you could do a simple burnout with the bike leaned over and get rid of them, but it will all depend upon your riding style. And even if you don't have strips, you still may not know how to handle the bike... they don't mean crap to me on the street. Would rather see everyone come back safely from a ride instead of wadded up.

I guess I'm not cool then. Maybe after Lowman, but am looking more at my tire wear pattern than strips.

Re: Hello

Yeah I know about chicken strips I just had to throw that in for Proeve..... I am pretty sure that we had a discussion on them at one of the CSS i went to at Miller. The pics of the 600 were taken about 3 years ago with brand new tires and it had never seen the track up to that point. The 1000 only has 800 miles on it right now, it got neglected this year because of the track riding that I did. Track riding just made street riding no fun. I am with stubby, if I check my tires "most" of the time it is to check wear patterns. Hahaha. I have been watching the Utah SBA website for the rules and other changes. To be honest the only reason that I was going to do clubman was so I did not have to safety wire the bike. So racing is still up in the air for right now.

Re: Hello

Do it!!! The safety wiring isn't much. Bring your bike up, I have 2 weeks vacation for xmas, we could get it wired up in a day. That seems to be the way it goes with street riding though, the more track time, the less you care about the canyons.

Yeah, when we got back from MMP in Oct, which was my first trackday, I didn't feel like going out to ride for about a week and a half. And commuting to work had no attraction. I felt like I didn't get to "ride" the bike, I just got to sit on it inbetween home and work.
