Hi, I'm DANGEROUS!!! Apparently...

Wow, so I am a little surprised. I haven't been on the forum all winter for the most part and my first time back I am attacked. Dave, I don't want to start drama, I would just like to have a chance to defend myself for a minute. I don't mind at all if you lock this thread. Those of you who have ridden with me know that I am not a dangerous rider, or a . I wasn't bragging that I got out of a jailable offense, in fact just the opposite. I did deserve to get a reckless driving as the law is written, however I am thankful that the cop had mercy on me and only gave me the speeding ticket. Now, if I was being reckless, putting families at risk as Andrew stated, don't you think the cop would have given me a reckless and taken me to jail? I was in full leathers, on a section of freeway after a construction zone ended and the lanes expanded with very light traffic. I sped up for two reasons. 1. It's kinda fun, and one of the reasons I have a sportbike and not a vespa, and 2. because I was running late for the group ride. While what I did was illegal for sure, I feel I exersized due caution and restraint (could have been doing 180 mph +) in choosing when and where to let my ponies out, and I absolutely was not riding outside of my ability. Please don't paint me to look like some freak out endangering myself, other riders, and families while splitting traffic weaving in and out of cars at 120mph on a congested freeway because that's simply not what happened. We all do illegal things on our motorcycles. I didn't feel I was needlessly endangering myself or others, however I know what I did was illegal. I got caught, and now I will own up to the consequences. I knew what those consequences were before I goosed the throttle. I don't know it all, but I am certainly not an inexperienced rider by any means. Please learn the facts before jumping to absurd conclusions about people. Oh and by the way, I use my front brake all of the time Sorry, couldn't end with at least a little humor.

That right there was an excellent way to state your case regarding what happened and your attitude about it.

Thank you for being reasonable and respectful (we all know a little humor can still be respectful). I am locking the thread to avoid additional drama but I'm letting your post stand and I'm glad that you took the time to post it.
