Should make for some pretty good low end out of a 600! It sounds like you have done your research but just incase... make sure you order the skinnier sprockets also so you don't destroy your chain... not sure if the stock sprocket will even fit in a 520 chain?
Yep Yep. Stock is DID 525 chain and sprockets

I am -1F +2R on my 08 R6.

Trust me even when I was over 200lbs It still could launch my ass and keep pulling hard.

it's a simple change of ratio. it all depends on the exsiting gears. standard ratios r like what shmitty said. real close to a 1:3

How is that set up for you? When does the power kick in? Have you had it at the track (1/4 mile)?

its been great all around...yes ive had it at the track and it works great for MMP.

i dont care for 1/4mile....im one of those guys that thinks 1/4 mile is lame.

if your planning on being a dragster then maybe a larger rear would be better suited but if thats not going to be your PRIMARY use then i would stay away from anything more than -1+2 just my opinion....

as for the power....well ###t the obvious jump in power is right at 13K since thats were the flutes drop. but there is still a decent power pull from 6k but there is still more pull all the way down to the bottom of the gears.....NO its no V-twin but its a significant upgrade from the stock gearing....and you still have loads of top end.....

if your still unsure....try just dropping the countershaft sprocket by one tooth....see how you like it.........want more...then start going up in the rear....

Sweet Thanks for the info

I will have the bike on the 1/4 track but thats not going to be the primary use!

My dream would be to race at MMP but dont think I will have the money this year.... have to wait and see

So with that being said it will mostly be street riding, up to Idaho City, Lowman, ect ect.... So it sounds like the setup im going to like!

Thanks again for the info

True that, if all I wanted was a 1/4 mile bike I would have got something bigger than a 600... I just think its fun to run it every once and a while.

i think about the only time you wouldnt like that gearing is long highway or interstate trips averaging 75-90 mph.....

If you are wanting to ride a track like MMP, I wouldn't go more than -1 +2. Anything above that will be too aggressive, and then defeats the purpose of the gearing change. The fast guys like DiSalvo, and the WERA guys either use a -1 or the -1 +2 or just a +2 or +3 on the rear.

I was +3 (rear) on the 636 last time I was at MMP and it was awesome.
Perfect IMO.
