should turn out pretty sweet! is the heat from the rad overflow tank going to mess with the electronics? Probably not good on the board to be strapped to a potentialy 200 degree + surface?

We've been using DDM for years over in the BMW forums, got a set in my 740iL and they've been great. My most recent two sets, for the X5 and the TL I got from www.hidextra.com, w/ free shipping using coupon code "besthid-m" at the checkout. No problems w/ those so far either. I love how affordable these things have become, cheaper than Silverstars halogens at the local autoparts stores!

The higher the number, the lower the light output. Just my opinion, but anything above 6k starts turning barney purple and gets washed out too much instead of being usable light. 5k is the best, but 6k has that nice bluish tinge.

That is true. but do you know that HID's have a total range of 3k to 30k bulbs? the light output decreases over the whole range.

Also, the lamp color will change from manufacturer to manufacturer. a 5k bulb wont look the same as another 5k bulb from another company. Fact. We have discussed this in another forum.

That being said, 9k will not give you a "washed out" look. Actually, quite the opposite. I have at least twice the light output level as before, and in distance too. Yeah they are 9k, and the blue is getting old to me, and i know the 4300k or the 5k's would be have even more light output. (luckily lamps are just $25~)
....At least i know for a fact people notice me and can see me from a distance

Im picking up a set of 3k's and probably 5k's too lol....gonna have a whole drawer of lamps....lol..

BTW- DO NOT TOUCH THE LAMPS WITH YOUR BARE HANDS!!!! The oils from your hands will cause the bulb to burn out much faster! <<<Fact.

standard 55w bulbs in the R6 are an H7 arent they?

if you want people to notice you ...the yellow is quite annoying and very hard to not see...no matter what time of day or night it is

I know, I was just saying. I've only bought from two people. I'm been thinking about getting 3k's for the foglights in my 7...I always liked the way they looked on Lexus'.
