idk any history on the bike but i can tell you that the bike has been down cause the right side fairing dont have the correct white sticker decal like the left side does.

I can't tell if that is a blinker or not. I would venture to say that whole side fairing was replaced.

Check the rearsets, bar ends, passenger pegs, case covers, pipe and edges for scratches/gouges. They could be there and be painted over. If he damaged the side fairing, other parts scraped.

I have the same bike, mine was down and it runs like a champ. If he wants to get rid of it he will budge on the price especially if it has been down. Double check the title make sure it is clean etc. Use common sense hear it run take it for a spin and ask questions you can find out tons of stuff about a bike if you ask the right questions. If you need help holla I'm free tomorrow if you want someone to roll out there with you and take a look at it. 965-5453

i might take you up on the offer to look at it. deal is looking like it will be my 2001 sv650 and 1000 cash for his bike but that was before i was aware of the non matching stickers and all that. i am nervous a 1000 is too big given my current bike.

Depending on the condition of the R1 that doesn't seem like a bad deal NADA value average retail book for yours is around 2500 the R1 is 5200. Not to say that the R1 is worth it but that doesn't sound like a bad deal. I think a close inspection is warranted.

yeah its potentially a good deal although insurance is about 800 more a year for the r1, im only concerned about the integrity of the bike and it being too much for me id refer an r6.

botb ill text you if i go look at it tomorrow/ technically today, what times are best for you.

Call State Farm on Overland (Angela Webb). A brand new R1 with full coverage was only going to be $35/mo for me. I know everyone has a different situation that will effect that but a lot of people here have switched to them because they have great rates.

Don't be scared of a 1000. I don't want to start the 600 or 1000 debate but you can get in just as much trouble on a 600 as a 1000. Use your head and you'll be fine. If that is a big deal to you though and you really want a 600 I'd say pass on this deal. It's not any sort of super deal that you won't ever find again on a bike you really want.

he said he is pretty flexible on the price, but he tried to pull the "oh i have two guys that wanna buy it were in negotiations" thing.

.
I switched to angela webb at shaners advice. Best move I made in regards to insurance. 35.00 is low though. I have an 2007 R1, Homeowner, married and have 2 car policies and 3 motorcycle policies on top of my home policy. I pay 60.00 a month

I like that bike BUTTTTT

I would fork over a few hundred more for a 04 or newer with the undertail exhaust. Motor is a lot stronger. IMO. If you have to take a drive. Bikes are cheap right now. I think that dude can come down to around 4k if he wants is gone. I see 04 + in the 4500 - 5000 range..

is it thumpers? i saw that but i dont wanna deal with the hassle of selling mine and dealing with all the asshats. Id still prefer a 600 as insurance is 600 cheaper a year for me, not that i wouldnt consider r1's.

and where would i maybe get a hell of a trade in?

im mechanically inclined enough to clean my chain, adjust my chain, change my oil and spark plugs and thats about it i dont trust myself to accurately judge the mechanical condition of a bike especially if its been down. like if the forks are bent or anything else like that.

No it doesn't belong to anyone on this forum. It was a deal that was offered to me. Text or pm me.

not really unhappy its an amazing bike, and in pristine condition really. i just am not really fond of the looks, and mods are limited. I would just prefer a bit more power with a 600 and ill be able to do a little stunting. its really bad to stunt the sv because wheelies run the front cylinder dry on oil not too mention its hard ass hell to get them up, 2 to 1 let off the gas for the suspension to dive then as it rebounds hit the throttle HARD.

i am in no hurry though and will wait for the right deal.
