6/17 bogus road

Drove up bogus road this evening for a mountain bike ride.

I don't know if resent rain washed sand on the road but there is tons of sand in the road in spots.

ride with care.

There's always sand on Bogus. That's what makes it fun.

Rode Bogus tonight and it was way worse than I expected. Like someone took buckets of sand and dumped them right in the corners.

So basically stay off bogus for a while.

It's an amazing road when it's clean. I really don't understand how so much sand got up there.

I used to work at the gravel pit that provides sand to them. This time of year they haul lots of sand up there to stock pile for the winter that they use on the road, parking lots etc.. locations. They haul it up by the truckloads several times a day.

Rain? Cars or trucks running too tight inside and their inside tires pulling it onto the road? <--Seen this on the LL when logging trucks are running.

No it's much more than would be caused by any of that. Truck loads of sand makes sense.

I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush

You know..... if you had knobbies, that pesky sand just isn't much of an issue.

This is why I stay the hell off this rode. Never know when they start doing this. Guess they have some time to get things ready for the winter.
