Good ride guys. For the amount of bicycles we actually got thru okay. The Falco has seen its last ride with me as it is sold.Just be sure to wear your earplugs around the ST.Already miss the instant torque from the Falco.

Didn't seem like you were short on torque with the st.

Considering I had wrap my bike out to catch you at one point.

It was a pleasure riding with you guys today. I think I 've seen enough cyclist to last me a life time.

What a beautiful ride between Horseshoe Bend and Banks. I need to figure out how to go rafting on my bike. Looks like a blast.

There was a 120 some mile 3 peak bicycle challenge this weekend. There were a bunch of them leaf licking, tree hugging, bunny lovers competing in that that I work with. And the police bikes were there to run escort for thar event.

The troopers stopped in to have lunch, and we sat around shooting the bull for 5-10 minutes. Nice guys. Yes, they were up there running escort for the cyclist. I guess there were two races, and we got stuck behind an escort for about 3-5 miles going at a snails pace. We could not pass. We ended up getting passed by some six year kid on his bicycle.

The upper portion up to the summit was for the hard core riders. The road was closed between the Lodge and the Summit for the race. Otherwise you just had to pay attention to the cyclist since a lot of them were riding three four abreast hogging up the entire lane, even around blind corners. Not smart in my opinion. Had one group that would not move going 10 mph, made us go around them crossing the double yellow.

Honestly, the ride up the lodge was fine. The ride back down sucked.

I fueled up at the Beacon Light Chevron before the ride and just fueled up today on my way back from work and put in 4.3 Gallons out 5.1 after 252 miles. That's almost 59 miles per gallon, not bad considering a good 45 minutes was spent goint at a snails pace riding the clutch in first gear.

Hey, here's an idea: stay away on the weekends!! (unless you absolutely, positively need the aggravation)

OK, I am very spoiled because my job gives me Tuesdays off, but think about the options of riding on a weekday: much, MUCH less traffic, both on 55 and the Lowman Loop, weekend "LEO's for hire" are nowhere to be seen, and did I say much less traffic?

I wish I had a better plan to share, but I gave up on planning an "athletically paced" ride on any weekend day years ago.

I've had Tuesdays, or another weekday, off to ride in the summer for so long that I am so spoiled, and y'all should give it a try. Every spring I ask for a shift change to get a weekday off, gladly giving up Saturdays off for a few months for riding on a weekday. There really is no comparison between the road conditions on a weekday and those found when riding with the cagers (and bicyclists) on weekends.

Y'all really need to give it a try.
Give me a shout and let's go!

I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush

What no one told you is that if you kept going over the pass east of Warm lake, the ride down to Deadwood is absolutely epic. Time to get some knobbies...

As a general rule the ITD website is a good one to check.
http://lb.511.idaho.gov/idlb/main.js...e&current=true
They actually had a notice on it for Highway 55 regarding the 3 Summit Challenge. It did not mention the Warm Lake Road, since it is actually a Forest Service Road, maintained by Valley County.
