North 95 to McCall then 55 to Boise....

Just looking at a map and this looks like a good ride. I am open to the day...but would like to do it sometime in the next week or so. Anybody want to go??

I Ride: The Armageddon, Orange Crush

It's a long slog with not a lot of corners. It's the road you have to take, to get to the good roads. I suggest a Warm Lake trip, or a Hells Canyon ride if you are looking for twists and scenery, both are preferable.

I looked at Warm Lake and it seems like it is all dirt roads up to it. I have been around the Idaho side of Hells canyon on dirt roads. Just looking for a street ride and as I have not been much past Weiser on 95 just wanted to see where it went. I really want to see some new places and never having been to McCall thought it would be a good loop.

Warm lake road from hwy 55 to warm lake summit is all paved. It is 30 miles of cornering fun up and back. Just watch out for the decreasing radius turn near the top. Catches most of us out at least once or twice.

I Ride: Anything i can get my hands on

I really like the ride up to McCall and back down. Went on it this spring, my favorite part is between McCall and New Meadows..Im a big fan of loops, something about not having to turn around and ride the same strech of road appeals to me

I think there and back is kind of like a commute....but a loop is more of an exploration, fun ride. Thanks for the tip about the decreasing radius turn.....as it is near the end I would have been most comfortable and could end up in a bit of trouble.

Warm Lake Road is different when you ride it each way the corners are different due to the grade and changes in radius in each direction. The route up 95 is waaaaay boring.

I rode this loop yesterday and actually enjoyed it. Even riding up 95. Yes it is not too curvy and even the sweepers are more like a slight curve. After Council the scenery and road really improves. The only thing that sucked was all the people heading back to Boise driving like.......well you know how they drive. Not all but enough to make me never ride there on a Sunday again. Next time I'll go to Warm Lake.

Pic is just north of Council.

Hwy 55 and any Sunday never mix. It's the main reason I always rode the loop clockwise.
